Hey everyone! I'm so glad you all enjoyed the last two chapters. I think you will all agree with me when I say that the last six or so chapters have been pretty hectic. The good news is things will in fact calm down for a while. Nothing but calmness and cuteness. Fluffy adorableness.
This chapter by the way isn't the greatest. In fact, it doesn't have a lot of dialogue. It may be a bit slow but enjoy anyway.
Before you read this chapter, I just want to clear up The Joker situation/story. The Joker isn't a big part of this fanfiction but he was a big storyline. Harley had left him and gone with Ivy to live a peaceful life without being criminals anymore. The Joker wanted revenge and to be honest, you can't have The Joker be defeated by his first encounter, can we : ) Last chapter, we saw the last of Joker as he was finally caught by Batman and is sent back to Arkham. Does this mean we'll never see him or hear from him again? Weeeeeell, I can't confirm nor deny whether he will pop up again. Just remember that the way he came out of it last chapter has indeed left it open for a POSSIBLE return in the future.
Anyway, enough talking; on with the chapter!

--------------------
Ivy stood in the bedroom doorway. She stared at Harley who was curled up in the bed on her own. It has been two days since Harley lost her mum. In the past, Ivy had seen Harley upset and broken. But none of them compared to now. Harley is more broken now then she has ever been before. After placing a bowl of soup on a tray, Ivy carefully made her way back upstairs. She entered the bedroom and placed the tray on the side next to the bed. Ivy kneeled down in front of Harley. "Hey baby, I know you're not too hungry at the moment but you need to get something in you" Ivy told Harley softly. Harley didn't reply. "Harl please... Eat something" Ivy begged. Harley's chin quivered as her eyes watered. Ivy couldn't hold it. She immediately pulled Harley into her arms and wrapped her in a hug. Harley then began to cry in Ivy's arms as she rocked back and forth gently.
A few minutes went by and Harley had calmed down. Ivy moved back from the hug, placed her hands on her cheeks and looked her straight in the eyes. "I'm here for you. Every minute and every hour; all day and at night, I'm here for you no matter what. Okay?" Ivy told Harley. Harley just nodded; her eyes teary. "Are you hungry baby?" Ivy asked. Harley shrugged in response. "Well I've brought you some soup. Please eat a bit, for me" Ivy said softly. Harley nodded and sat up properly. Ivy carefully handed her the tray and she let Harley eat in peace.
"Go take a shower, I'll deal with this. Okay?" Ivy told Harley. "Okay" Harley replied, her voice was almost impossible to hear but just loud enough to hear. Ivy went downstairs to wash the pots while Harley got undressed and went into the shower. Ivy went back upstairs and went into the bedroom. She got out a hair towel and waited. About ten minutes later, Harley entered the room with a towel tightly wrapped round her. Ivy breathed sadly. She missed the cheery and energetic girl she loved with all her heart. Every time Harley came out of the shower, she had a cheeky smile on her face and occasional giggles. Right now, it was the complete opposite. Even though Ivy understood why, she did in fact miss it all. Ivy just hoped that the old Harley would return one day.
Harley sat down next to Ivy on the bed. Ivy moved round and started to dry her hair like she always did. Harley closed her eyes and let the feeling of her hair being rubbed take over her mind. Neither of them spoke. They just sat there, deep in their own thoughts. Ivy finished drying Harley's hair. She placed the towel to the side and stared at the back of Harley for a few moments. Ivy then moved round and sat beside Harley on the edge of the bed. Ivy put her arm round her. Harley rested her head on Ivy's shoulder. They then sat there for a few minutes in silence. Ivy gently rubbed Harley's shoulder, soothing her as Harley stared in front of her.
For the first time in a long time, the silence seemed to be the best thing for Harley. Harley didn't need questions on if she is alright. She needed to be in the arms of the one person she loved with all her heart. This moment right now, resting her head on Ivy's shoulder relaxed her and she felt herself slowly healing from the pain she has in her heart. Every second, Harley felt just a tad bit better but the pain and thought of the loss of her mother clouded her mind and heart. Ivy respected the silence, knowing Harley just wanted to lean on and she was happy to give it to her. After all, Harley's heart is broken and she needed Ivy more than ever before.
"Red... I... I don't know what to do, I... When does it stop hurting red? When does it stop?" Harley said all of a sudden, her voice slightly shaky. Ivy thought for a few seconds before taking a deep breath. "Things like this doesn't heal over night baby. It takes time. It takes time to heal. Every day gets slightly easier, you just got to give it time... It's hard, I know. But I'm here for you. Every single day and night, I'll be here for you. I promise" Ivy replied, kissing Harley's head softly. Ivy rested her head on top of Harley's, closed her eyes and slowly rocked with Harley in silence...

Although this wasn't a cute and fluffy chapter, it was more light hearted than it has been for a while. I do come with some bad news however. I'm not going on a break but the chapters from now on won't be as consistent as it has been. The next chapter won't be released for about a week or so. Partly because of how this chapter went and ended. But also I have a LOT of University work. So the next four weeks or so is going to be so busy for me. I don't want to put this fanfiction on hold again but it is pretty likely that this fanfic will go on a break. If so, I will let you all know.Hoped you all enjoyed this chapter. Post your thoughts in the comments below.
Next chapter is titled: "Storm". See you all next time...
