It's been a month since I've meet Kris and things are still complicated. Thanks to him I have a little pep in my step and I'm trying a little harder. At home I'm still in hell, Spencer is getting worse and worse and I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. Outside of home I have a whole new life, Anthony and Kris take good care of me and it's a unusual feeling, but a good one nonetheless. That doesn't stop what is happening at home unfortunately, and as time goes on going home becomes impossible because I know what's waiting there. It's pain and misery and everything in collectively afraid of. But I would wait a life time for Kris. When I'm not home I'm with him as much as possible. I know when Spencer is watching and quite frankly I don't care anymore. He's going to beat me anyway, might as well get something out of it right?
I show up to work early this morning and get ready for my training session with Kris. Today we would work on upper body strength, lord knows he could use it. He arrives right on time and hands me a red rose.
"What is this for" I smile before taking a sniff of it.
"It's a "I want you to know that I care a lot about you even though I shouldn't I still do" rose" he claims causing me to laugh.
"Honestly the nicest thing anyone has given to me in a long time" I admit. We stretch out and get started on the weights. I spot him on some bench presses and he spots me. We do some curls and more weights before moving to the home work outs. Kris and I have a push-up contest which I easily win and he gets mad.
"Awww don't pout" I tease as we get up off the ground.
"No... I'm mad" he says crossing his arms like a little kid and sticking out his bottom lip.
"You can't win at everything" I tease.
"I know. Luckily that wasn't really what I wanted to win today" he admits.
"Oh yeah? And what would that be" I ask tossing him a towel.
"Your heart" he smirks and I roll my eyes.
"Come on Kid, lets get you ripped" I call out and he happily follows me. We do some more drills before calling it a day. We stretch out to cool down and the radio plays in the background. The next song starts up and I smile big.
"I love this song" we say at the same time causing me to giggle. He catches my glance as it quickly falls silent.
"No way you like this song" I claim.
"I'm pretty sure I said that I love this song" he smirks.
"Have you seen this music video" I ask.
"I lived it" he claims. I pull him off the ground before jumping up on the bench as he sings to me.
"Hey pretty baby with the high heels on
You give me fever
Like I've never, ever known
You're just a product of loveliness
I like the groove of your walk,
Your talk, your dressI feel your fever
From miles around
I'll pick you up in my car
And we'll paint the town
Just kiss me baby
And tell me twice
That you're the one for me."We run around the gym messing around like teenagers in a low grade production of Grease. He chases me around for a while until he catches me behind the bikes. I feel my heart drop as he lifts me off the ground. I wanted to scream and kick and yell but I don't. Because he doesn't push me down or throw me, instead he holds me close and doesn't let go. He sets me back down but keeps my body pressed to his, still singing to me as I laugh at his terrible attempt to sing. I forgot what it was like to just listen to music and be free.
