As August draws to a close I realize something very important. I get married in less than 3 months and I don't have a dress. That my friends, is what we call a problem. Although I don't really care about what I wear I'm going to want pictures to look on for the rest of my life and I don't want to be up at the alter in shorts and a t shirt.

So today my sister, Emily, Sue, and my mom head to a bridal shop downtown. We get taken to a little room with a consultant who would help us today.

"So who is the bride" the lady asks and I raise my hand.

"Wow you're really pretty" she says admits I blush. Damn it.

"Thank you" I smile.

"So you're the lady becoming Mrs. Bryant" she asks and I nod. "My name is Andy and I'll be helping you today. Did you have a dress in mind" she wonders.

"Nothing too big. We're simple people and it's a small wedding" I explain.

"Inside or outside" she questions.

"Outside" I respond.

"And the colors?"

"Auburn and pink and orange."

"And it's in November right?"

"Correct" I nod.

"Alrighty then. Looks like we need to get you a dress" she laughs. I mean that's why I'm here after all.

We all get up and pick out some dresses but I had my eyes on this one from the window of the store. I wanted to try that one on last.

After trying on about ten dresses it was the only one left. I had tried on some that I liked, but never loved. They were all so pretty but I was hoping this was the one was going to be it.

I step into the dress and get zipped up. It was a little loose but nothing a little altercation couldn't fix.

"Wow" Andy gasps and I smile.

"How do I look" I ask.

"See for yourself" she smiles. She turns me around and I stumble back a little. The dress was so stunning. It was a perfect mixture of simple and intricate. The top had a breath taking design and I loved the neckline. Then it was loose flowing so I could still dance the night away. I think it represented me and our relationship perfectly.

"Here's this" she says pulling veil in my hair and I felt complete

"Here's this" she says pulling veil in my hair and I felt complete. "I don't care what anyone says, you look stunning" she claims.

"Thank you" I blush.

We go out to my family and the chatter stops. I step onto the stage and turn to them. Andy fixes my train behind me and I fiddle with my hands as I wait to see what they say.

"Wow Al, you look breathtaking" Sue says.

"Yeah Alex, that's dress is amazing. You look great" my sister adds on.

"Baby" my mom sniffles and that's when the tears come. Andy hands me a tissue and I wipe them away the best I can.

"What are you thinking" she asked.

"A lot, actually. I never thought I would get to this moment of my life, I would never be able to look like this for the man I love. Worst case scenario I'm still with my first fiancé because I couldn't get out. We would be engaged our whole life until whatever inevitable end that would have come to. We were never going to get married and I think we both knew that. I don't have to worry about covering bruises or scars and can just be a myself. Love myself. Love what me in this dress represents and thank God over and over again I can do this with you guys" I sniffle. My mom gets up and brings me into a hug.

"You know what looks greatest on you? It's that smile. And I know it's only there because of Kris. You look so amazing and I'm so proud of you sweetie. I love you" she whispers in my ear.

"Thanks momma. Love you most" I whisper back.

After a lot of tears and a lot of laughs I end up getting that dress. We look for some bridesmaids dresses which was hard because matching the right auburn color is impossible.

Jess and my sister and I look around until we found one that looked kind of like my dress. It matches my hair perfectly and I though that was really cool.

I head home and find Kris with Bennett watching children's tv. Alexis was by this morning since Che lives in campus now but she had to get to class. She's just been wonderful to have around and I hope she stays in our life for a really really long time.

"Hey, how did it go" Kris asks as I sit next to the couch.

"It was great. I had an amazing time with Andy" I admit grabbing my phone to show him pictures. Not of the dress we picked of course, but some of me in the other ones.

"Andy? Who is this Andy" he asks getting really defensive. I smile at his jealousy and bring up a picture of us.

"She... was my consultant. She helped me find a dress" I explain and his cheeks turn red.

"Oh" he whispers and I laugh.

"It's okay, I like that you got defensive" I admit rubbing his arm. He kisses the side of my head as Bennett sits in his lap trying to crawl over to me. I pick him up and turn him so he's looking at Kris and I.

"How's my little man" I ask.

"Making the big man tired" he admits.

"Take a nap. You got time" I assure him.

"I hate sleeping without you" he smiles sheepishly.

"Don't have to tell me twice" I laugh. I put Ben in his play pen in the living room and join Kris on the couch once again. He pulls a blanket over us and I wrap my arms around him.

"I can't wait to see you in the dress" he mumbles sleepily.

"And I can't wait to marry you"
