Kris

"Kris."

"Kris wake up."

"Kristopher Lee Bryant!"

My eyes flutter open and I see Alexandria standing over me with a big smile on her face. She had on a party hat and and was wearing a shirt with my face on it. Where she got that is past me but I feel like my parents were a part of it.

"Good morning" I mumble wiping at my eyes just so I could see her better. I reach up to touch her face and smile bright when her soft skin meets mine.

"Happy birthday" she yells then suddenly I was wide awake. I totally forgot it was my birthday.

"Thank you" I say pulling her on our bed with me. I start kissing her neck and she starts to giggle. My grip on her tightens as she squirms underneath me. I start to rub her belly and she places her small hand on top of mine.

"Baby, you gotta get up" she laughs.

"Why? It's my birthday, and all I want is you" I insist.

"Because we're not alone" she says and I stop.

"What do you mean" I ask looking around our room.

"Why don't you come with me and find out" she asks and I reluctantly let her go. She waddles out of bed giving me a chance to get more decent and pulls me downstairs. I get to the bottom of the steps and see the whole place decorated. A banner wishing me happy birthday hung in the living room and there was a bunch of breakfast foods and drinks set out.

"Happy birthday" everyone yells and I smile big. My family was here along with my friends from back home and some guys from the team. Even Bryce Harper was here. Everyone comes over to hug me and says hi and I try to figure out how this is happening. How they all got here and why they're here.

"Happy birthday sweetie" my mom says kissing my cheek about ten times. I allow it because I really did miss her and she was the only one allowed to do that.

"Thanks mom. I can't believe you guys are here" I admit.

"It was all Alex's idea. She called everyone and got us out here" she tells me. I turn around and walk over to Alex before pulling her to the side.

"You did all of this" I ask and she nods.

"How" I ask.

"I flew most of them out from Vegas. The guys from the team are already here was so I just had them come over and your family... well I love them like my own. Didn't take much out to get them here" she claim.

"You are seriously the best I can't even explain how much you... you" I smirk and she blushes.

"Go! Have fun. There's food for everyone and they have things for you. I know how much you love breakfast and there's a omelet with your name on it. Go mingle and catch up with the people you love but haven't seen in a while. It's you're birthday" she says pushing me away.

"Noooo come with. Meet my friends and let me brag about how lucky I am" I insist.

"Kris. I love you. So much. But there's more to life than me and it's all in this room waiting for you to see it. At least try to branch out with out me. Please" she begs.

"I don't want to Alex. I know that everything I wanted in life is you or in you right now. And even if you're not with me you're always going to be on my mind so I would much rather you just be with me anyway. Baby I want you, I want you by my side more than anything. I don't want you near just because I'm over protective or because I want to check up on you and know you're okay. I genuinely want to be around you. I want my friends to look at us and say they want the love we share. I want my parents to be so excited for their first grandbaby that they cry every time they see him. And I can't have any of this stuff without you besides me" I explain. The room falls silent as all eyes turn to us. I frankly didn't care, I just cared about what she wanted to say.

"What ever did I do to deserve you" she asks with a tear in her eye.

"You went through hell and back. And I was there waiting for you and I would do it a over and over again hundred times again if I had to. I know I made the best decision and seeing you here right now is prof that I did. I love you... so much. And I don't want to do any of this without you" I insist. She slips her hand in mine and gives me the kindest of smiles.

"Lets do this" she claims and I smile back.

Everyone goes back to mingling and we walk around, hand in hand, saying hi to everyone. Most of the guys from the team were just excited to be back in Chicago and back to eating all of my girlfriends food. Of course that was mostly Anthony right there.

"Hey silk" Bryce smiles and I pull him into a huge hug.

"Hey Bry, how goes it" I wonder.

"Pretty good. Missed you at the wedding. Thanks for the gift though" he says with his arms around his new wife. I grew up with the both of them and was super bummed I couldn't make it to the wedding but I heard it was amazing.

"I haven't even been to Vegas this offseason. We were so busy with moving in and the holidays and the baby... it's been crazy" I explain.

"I can see you guys have had a lot on your plate. When is the baby due" he asks.

"Pretty soon here, in about three months" I explain.

"That's amazing. I'm so happy for you guys" he says and his wife nods along.

"Thanks man, same to you two" I smile.

After a while the party ends and everyone goes home. I help Alex clean up the house and throw everything away. She insists on keeping the banner up and I don't fight it because I didn't feel like getting on the chair to take it down.

Once we were done we lay on the couch kind of tired but really happy. I go back to kissing her and rubbing her stomach and this time she doesn't not fight it.

"Are you having a good birthday" she asks.

"The best" I mumble on her sweet skin.
