For three days we were in San Diego to attend the all star game. This is the first time that both of us are away from Bennett for more than one day and it's already been hard. I miss my cuddle bug. He was actually a really easy baby and he was my baby so naturally I was going to miss him a lot. But it wouldn't have been good for a four month old to be here and we wouldn't be able to give him the attention we would want so it is better he stays with someone else. So Kris and I made the trip out to Cali and I was actually excited for it to be just him and I again. And Anthony if it's up to him. Now that we have a baby alone time is of the essence but I'm sure we'll find some this weekend, even if over half the cubs' starting line up is here too.

We get to the hotel room the day before the home run derby and settle in. I call Alexis because I'm that mother who is annoying but she didn't mind and she assures me she is doing fine and Bennett is a angel, not that I ever had a doubt. After I was convinced that I could back off some I look for something to relax me. I change into a swimsuit and Kris does too as we decide to spend the afternoon by the pool.

"You sure you don't want to go out and run around" Anthony asks us as we part ways. He was going to look around the city with a few of the guys while we relaxed for once. I drop my towel by a pool chair and I feel two pairs of eyes on me. "Ohhhhh I get it. You have fun my good man" Anthony says patting Kris on the back and jogging away before Kris could hit him back.

He takes off his shirt and we sit in the hot tub. He pulls me on his lap as starts playing with my bottoms.

"What do you think you're doing" I ask softly. No one was in the hot tub but still.

"Shhh" he whispers and I nod. He slips his hand into my swim suit and I try my best to keep quiet. He moves his hands around and I close my eyes and bite down on my lip. Oh boy.

"Kris" I whisper but he ignores my pleas. I let out a small groan as he kisses my neck. Holy hell.

Just as I was about to turn around and finish this I feel the water raise and my eyes shoot open.

"Howdy friends" Dexter chirps as he gets in. Kris removes his hand and lets out a soft grunt. I know he was mad because we can literally never be alone but we have a lot of friends and they just so happen all made it all the all star team too. I pat his leg as I slide off his lap and sit next to him.

"Hey Dex. How is your leg feeling today" I ask. He had been on the DL with a hamstring problem and I've been working with him to get him back on the field. He was close but not ready yet.

"It's better. Gonna do some hot tubbin to relax my muscles while the wife and kid plays in the pool" he says pointing to the two messing around.

"Aww I miss my baby" I pout.

"Where is he" Dexter asks.

"At home with his nanny" I explain and he nods.

"Yeah, I guess he's still pretty young" he remembers. "So what are your plans with your time away from the kid" Dexter wonders.

"To have some time alone" Kris mumbles and I hit his chest. "It's always important to find some alone time. I know it is hard to find some when you have a newborn and you're working all. I hope you find some" he says.

"We did" Kris grumbles and I glare at him.

"Come one honey, let the young couple be alone. Come play with your daughter" Darya says grabbing his hand and encouraging him out of that hot tub.

"But my leg" he claims.

"I'll rub it out later" she claims sending me a wink.

"You know... he is supposed to be really smart" Kris mentions and I giggle.

"Book smart maybe. But he better stick to catching balls because he sure can't catch a hint" I mumble and Kris laughs.

"Now... where were we" he asks in a deep voice.

"Hopefully taking these things back to the room because we can't be intruded in there" I say and he nods.

"Good point" he smirks.

We cover up and head back to the hotel room. I swear that was the longest elevator ride with the way he was staring at me.

We finally make it into the room and I shed the cover up I was wearing. I feel a pair of hands on my face as Kris pulls me close.

"Now" he whispers on my lips.

"Yes, now" I giggle.

The second day in San Diego was for the home run durby. Kris wasn't a part of it so I got to enjoy it with him. We could sit there and watch it all unfold. Bryce comes and sits next to us and he smiles brightly.

"You know, I got something really cool in the mail last month" he claims.

"Yeah? What could that be" Kris jokes back.

"A invitation to a wedding of my best childhood friend and a picture of him and his beautiful and his beautiful wife's child" he says and I blush.

"I know it was a little informal but a lot has been happening" Kris admits.

"It's okay, I understand. And I'll be happy to attend your wedding. Although I am upset little man isn't here. I was hoping to meet him" Bryce admits.

"He'll be at the wedding for sure, it was just better for him to stay home" I assure him.

"And you, how have you been pretty mamma" he asks.

"I've been good. And how is your wife" I wonder.

"She's good. She's around here somewhere but she'll be excited you're here" he admits.

We sit around and talk for a little until the derby was over. There wasn't much for us to do after that so we go back to the hotel. We finally agree to go out to dinner with some of the guys from the Cubs and other teams and be social. But it still didn't feel like we were with a bunch of people, it still felt like just him and I.
