~A Few Months Earlier~

~Year 2024~

The blaring sound of her alarm clock woke her up from her peaceful slumber. She reached her arm out to push the snooze button like she would usually do, but now was not the time.

Today was the day. The day that she would participate in a secret government experiment. They called it X-KYO.

People at random were selected to participate, ranging from children, who were at the age of nine, to adults. They separated these people into groups ranging from a created category. Since she was 18, she was part of the older teenage group, ranging from 17-20 year olds.

"(y/n)," her mother walked in, "get ready, we're leaving soon."

The car trip was silent. No one spoke a word. Not even her mother, who would usually comfort her mother who would usually comfort her when things are like this. She looked out the window, examining the details of the buildings and trees around her. She knew this would be the last time she saw it.

They finally arrived at an underground building. It was all white, no smudges or dirt of any kind. It was like a white lab you would see in the movies. The girl got out of the car and grabbed her small knapsack.

"(y/n)," said her mother, smiling, "I love you, sweetie."

The girl went from a blank expression to a soft loving one. "I love you too mom." She said as she shut the door behind her.

All around, she could see children being walked into the lab, others were adults who went inside as if it was a casual work day. She didn't understand why certain kinds of people with certain ages are needed. It made no sense.

She walked inside the lobby, more white walls, covered in pentagon tiles which flashed people's faces and names. The guinea pigs, she thought, that's us. The names and faces flashed after each second, some names she followed some she didn't.

"Good Morning everyone!" A brunette woman with vibrant red lips and grey eyes appeared on a wide screen TV, hung high above the ceiling. Her face even appeared in some of the pentagon tiles. "Please report to the main hall for an entrance ceremony."

All participants did as they were told. All of them stood before a podium. Suddenly, an Asian man, with a youthful and kind face, walked up to the podium.

"Welcome all of you," he said, "as the majority of you know that as of today, you will remain here, as you are needed for a very special reason which will leave a mark on history. I believe I must introduce myself before anything happens. My name is Mr. Hajime Isayama. I have invited all of you here to join me on a journey to learn and expand our knowledge of science and technology."

The girl had heard of this man before. However, where she heard about him she did not know.

"All of the details of this experiment will be explained tomorrow night. As of now, you are to report to your rooms based on your age and age group. After discovering and settling into your new homes, you may have a tour of the lab." Mr. Isayama said, "Thank you for your kind cooperation." And from then he dismissed them.

A young lady handed the girl her card, which was the key to her room.

"Thanks," she said almost rudely. She slung her bag onto her back walked off to her assigned room. Room 844, she thought, coincidence much? She swiped the card on the small slot on the door above the knob. A small light flashed green and the door creaked open.

It revealed a white room with a white bed, a white bedside table and a small lamp. There were no windows, there were only doors to a closet and a bathroom. There was no TV or computer either. She walked in and shut the door behind her and laid her bag on her bed. It certainly did not match the room's humdrum vibe. She flopped herself down on the cold bed. The feeling of the sheets made her want to rest. After all, they woke up really early.

She tossed her bag in the closet, which was full of white clothing. Mainly white long sleeve shirts, pairs of white pants, three pairs of white sneakers, and for some reason, undergarments. She laughed at the sight of them. What a joke, she thought. She decided to take a quick shower and change into one of the white clothes. They seemed to have fit her body perfectly. Strange.

She laid down on her bed and looked at the ceiling, until her eyes began to feel heavy as she fell asleep.
