Chapter 10: Scandal

(Y/n) helped Isabel put on her harness, telling her to check the strap around her chest while she checked to make sure the belt around her hips was tight enough that the actual gear wouldn't fall. She stood up and pulled out her hand grips from the holders located right above her rib cage.

"Double check the triggers" she said pulling each trigger on the hand grips, Isabel doing the same thing. All seemed to be working well.

"Are you both ready?" Furlan asked, Levi behind him, with his stone cold expression. She glanced at him for a second and then nodded,

They went outside, walking though the dim alleys and stairs, headed to their position.

"We have a confirmation about Jan" Furlan informed them. "he's in a first rate hospital."

Thank goodness, (y/n) thought breathing a sigh of relief. "What about that man earlier? Anything on him?"

"Yes. This job is a real deal."

Levi walked faster than usual and ignored the information Furlan was giving them. The other three kept up with him.

"We're going to do it, Levi?" Furlan asked.

He ignored and kept walking. He took a sharp turn as if no one was behind him.

"Levi," (y/n) whispered.

"Carry on as normal," Levi said, disregarding her, "if they appear as he says, we start the job."

They jumped over a fence and began to wait. She could overhear the merchants' conversation

"What on earth are you doing?" said one

"Sorry" Apologized another. Then she heard footsteps shuffling.

"Now," Levi whispered, running out of the hiding place, the others following behind him

They ejected their grappling hooks from their gear and flew a few inches above the neatly stacked wooden cartons near the merchants. She heard a large ruckus behind her: Isabel had knocked down the cartons as she followed them. The merchants yelled as apples and packets of medicine fell to the ground. She turned her focus back to where they were headed. (y/n) ran on top of one of the roofs and re-ejected her grappling again and released the gas from her gear so she could catch up to them.

"Levi!" Furlan called out, "they're right behind us!"

She turned around and noticed the people who were using the Vertical Maneuvering gear. The Military Police, she thought, then she noticed the strange people in green hoods who seemed to be more experienced in the gear. Who the hell?

"Heh," Isabel scoffed, "the Military Police again? Haven't they learned their lesson? Hey Levi! Wasn't the line I just said awesome?"

"Are you an idiot?" Levi said. Isabel frowned causing (y/n) to laugh mentally.

Levi re-ejected the grappling from his gear causing him to swoop down to the ground. Luckily, he pressed his gas trigger on time and just enough for him to get back up. He spun around causing the white smoke to circle around him as he went forward.

(y/n) could hear men screaming and yelling in the distance. Must be the MPs, she thought, they've never used the gear once up there from the looks of it. She looked behind her, the men in green hoods was right behind her tail. Damn, they're fast, she pulled back, allowing them to miss her by a long shot. Who the hell are they? Wait...that emblem. Oh crap!

"Sis!" Isabel called, (y/n) launched her grappling hook to where they were so that she could fly parallel to them,

"They're damn fast," she said, "it's no mistake that they're not the MPs."

"Yeah," Levi said, "its them. The Wings of Freedom crest. It's the Survey Corps!"

She looked back at the men chasing them, and took notice of the sharp blades attached to both of their hand grips.

"Heh," Furlan scoffed, "for people who fight titans day after day, they're different than I expected."

"The three of you know what to do right?" Levi asked.

"Hell yeah!" (y/n) exclaimed, "it's part of the job isn't it?"

"Tch," he scoffed, "Furlan, Isabel, (y/n), let's go."

The four went in opposite directions. Furlan had gone to the alley on his left, Isabel to her right. (y/n) went further to another alley to her right, with two Scouts trailing behind her.

"Heh," she scoffed, bunch of losers. She took a sharp turn to an alley on her left, hoping that she lost them. She looked behind her, SHT! She thought, he's catching up! She held herself back with her gear and immediately took another turn to her right and flew over to a roof top and ran faster that she had ran since the day the baker chased her.

Suddenly, she saw a Scout in front of her with his handgrip below his ribs and his blade thrusted forward. Immediately, she ejected her grappling hooks and jumped. She did a flip over him and kicked his back with her foot.

Ack! She thought, as she looked at her arm. There was a small scratch about eight centimeters long that cut across her arm just below her wrist. Why that fcking brat! He scratched me.

She flew to another rooftop and kept running, disregarding the stinging pain in her arm and the cold blood dripping down her arm staining the sleeve of her shirt. Something then caught her eye: a short man had been fighting with one of the Scouts.

"Levi!" she yelled ready to jump from the roof. Then a Scout intervened and tackled her from behind causing her head to hit the stone cold rooftop. His hand was on her head as they skid across the rough surface, causing it to scratch and tear at her cheek. Both of them fell off the roof, the Scout on top and her at the bottom. The Scout's hood fell off, revealing the face of a young man, with reddish brown hair and mesmerizing icy blue eyes. He looked at her with surprise.

"It's you," he muttered.

She growled at him as she attempted to punch him but he was quicker and punched her instead. Blood began to drip down her lips and she began to feel light-headed. He held her tightly as he ejected his grappling hooks allowing them to land safely on the ground. He held her hands behind his back and forced her to walk towards two other Scouts who had two other people with hands behind their backs.

"I found this one, just now." The scout said.

(Y/n) lifted her head up weakly and saw Levi, who was threatened with a blade. The Scout let him go and ordered all of them to be cuffed.
