It was one of those nights again where she couldn't sleep, so she decided to climb up to the roof like she used to. Instead, this time was different. Back in her room, she spotted a large silver sphere in the dark ocean, however it faded shyly into the shadows of the black sea. She looked up at the scenery, trying to make figures out of the dim linings of the clouds.
"Of course," she heard a familiar voice behind her, "you'd be up here."
She laughed, "The moon went hiding when I was looking out the window so I climbed up here. Besides, the view is better." He sat down beside her as she spoke.
"Where are the constellations you told me about?" Levi asked, looking up
"It seems a bit dark tonight, so we might only be able to see a few stars. If we're lucky, maybe we can see them once the moon decides to come out."
He nodded and it was silent for a while.
"What do you see?" she asked him, breaking the silence.
He looked at her confused, "What do you mean?"
"In the sky, what do you see?"
Levi looked back up, "Nothing. It's all black and dark, besides the dim light over there, but it's all nothing."
"Really?" He nodded
"I see something different," she said, "I see a sky with no limits. A sky that goes on forever. There's no ceiling, nothing holds it down. There is just freedom and infinity. Stars or no stars, moon or no moon, the sky is still beautiful."
She paused and smiled, "Your eyes," she started, "that day we kissed, when I looked into your eyes, this is what I saw. It was just like the night sky. There was so much they hid, just like the moon hiding from us right now."
He looked at her, surprised by her observation. When he saw nothing, she saw something. She saw in his eyes, a beautiful scene, and the shining moon that hid behind his menacing and dark countenance.
"Hey," Levi said, looking up, "is that-?"
"The moon," she finished his sentence as the clouds parted, revealing a glimmering silver moon, "and look, there it is." She pointed to a constellation in the sky, "it's (favorite constellation)."
She looked at Levi, waiting for his reaction. His dark eyes were fixed onto the beauty of the stars and the moon, "it's beautiful,"
"About earlier," she spoke, "I'm sorry. I didn't know and it was wrong for me to stay on that subject."
"Forget about it," he said, holding her hand. She flushed red at the touch of his strong hands. "I'm sorry that I lied to you about where I was for the last few days, before this sht all happened."
She gave a small laugh, "I guess there are some things that we don't know about each other yet," she paused, "...So tell me about yourself, Levi Ackerman, if you don't mind."
He gave a small smile, and began to explain. She listened intently to every word he said and was very intrigued by his story, reacting when necessary, until she laid her head down on his lap and fell asleep. He ran his fingers through her soft (hair color) locks on her head and brushed off the strands sticking to her face. He took one more look at the sky and carried her back to her room.
"I love you," he whispered into her ear, "(y/n)..."
A/N: Short chapter I know but I wanted the song to flow while you read. My editor seemed to like it so thanks CatieCrystals! I absolutely love this song and when I came up with the book and the plot, I wanted to incorporate the song and some of its lyrics into it. Originally, I intended to use the song with the vocals but I didn't quite feel it so I listened to this and I was like this is the one. I think this part is just a very interesting, meaningful and deep (according to editor) part and its my favorite out of he whole book. I tried to make sure that when you play the song, you can read it and it goes along nicely. I hope you love this chapter as much as I do. I have always wanted to work on this chapter since I began and here it is! So thank you so much. PEACE!!!
