"You lost a lot of blood," said the blond man.

"It was only a scratch," She explained, "at least I'm not one of those people with the leg problems." She crossed her arms as he tied a piece of cloth around her knee, securing it with a knot.

"Now let me see your hand," he said. She did as she was told.

"It has some scaring, flesh has been torn off and there's plenty of blisters." He said out loud so she could hear, "How long have you been doing this?"

"I don't know," she said, "two years I guess,"

"Where are your parents?"

She remained silent and kept her head down. She hated recalling the day she came home. When she walked into her home, calling for her father, she didn't realize that he was already on the floor on his deathbed. If she hadn't left the house her father would have been fine, and since then, she blamed herself that she should have stayed home.

"They're...they're dead," she said.

She heard a small gasp from him.

"I was four, my mom passed away. Then my dad passed away two years ago because he had the leg issue." She paused for a second, remembering her dad, on the ground, eyes wide open and paralyzed, "It was just because I wasn't there,"

The man finished tying her hand in a spare piece of cloth. "There," he said, "you're all done."

She looked at her hand, swollen and her fingers were red. She didn't realize that this happened to it.

"Thank you...um..." she said awkwardly, "what's your name?"

"I'm Furlan," he said, "that over there's Levi,"

She looked at the man who decided to punch the baker. He was wiping his knife down with his handkerchief. She had seen him before, the question is, where?

"Hey moron," Levi said bursting her bubble, "did your parents ever tell you that it's impolite to stare?"

"Levi!" Furlan scolded, "Didn't you hear her?"

"It's alright." She said, making him calm down, "Wait a minute, aren't you guys the ones that use the gear to fly around the city?"

Levi stopped wiping his knife and looked at her.

"You are aren't you?!" she exclaimed excitedly, "You guys are amazing! Both of you are so agile! I mean imagine if you guys were up on the surface! You could fly freely! No ceiling and no limits!" Both boys remained silent.

"Tell me," she said a little calmer, "what does it feel like to be up there?"

They still remained quiet.

"Like you said," Said Furlan, looking at her, "free," he smiled. She smiled back.

"Well, I better get going," she said, "I've caused enough trouble for one day, I can't cause anymore." She stood up, her leg still sore from the scrape. She grunted at the pain.

"Hang on," said Furlan, "I think you should stay here. You're injured and the baker might come back after you again. Besides, don't you ever get lonely?"

She never thought about it. Whenever she felt alone, she would mask the pain with her memories about her parents, which made her worse.

"Not...really..." she said, "I never..."

"Well, you can stay with us for now," said Furlan, "and maybe we can even teach you how to use the gear if you want."

"You mean it?!" She asked excitedly.

"As long as you know how to clean first," Levi said, out of the blue.

She gave him a confused look. Clean? What does that have to do with the gear? She thought.

"Alright Captain," she said out loud in a slightly sarcastic tone.

"Captain?" Levi questioned.

"It just came out naturally," she laughed.

"You haven't even told us your name yet," he said

"Oh yeah," she said, "its (y/n)"

A/N: So I just decided to post this early because I'm worried I might not be able to post it this Friday since Finals are a week away and Im getting a bit busier than I thought (plus I have a thing where I have an updating spree but then it dies down after like a day) and yeah. Plus Im having  small writer's block because 1. I am writing this based off my memory of the OVAs and the actual series (which I watched more than enough) and 2. Im having doubts on my next chapter so I'm getting two people to edit it for me. Dont worry if I stop updating because I have the story hidden somewhere and stuff. Technically that means Im still updatingjust not posting it :D

PS: Im probably speaking Gibberish arent I XDD
