Chapter 17: Comrades

A/N: DONT PLAY THE SONG UNTIL YOU READ THIS!! So before you begin, you're probably wondering like "you already told us what happened!" Yeah but I did it revolving around Levi and not the protegonist (you). So this chapter will revolve around you. I have not read the No regrets manga. This is based off my memory of the Anime series.

The rain began pouring down on them as the sound of hooves began to splash on the muddy ground beneath them.

"I didn't know that the rain fell this heavy," Isabel pointed out.

"Neither did I," Furlan agreed, "we probably won't be able to see the titans before it's too late."

"This is our chance," Levi said, "We'll use the rain as an advantage to get closer to Erwin."

"Levi!"

"Are we going for it?" Isabel asked

"Yeah," he said, "but I'll go alone. It would be suspicious if the four of us were to break away at once."

"What?!" (y/n) blurted, "but-"

"He's right (y/n)," Furlan sighed, "It's best not to move around so carelessly."

She remained silent, "Fine. Do it. Go secure our citizenship on the surface!"

"We're counting on you bro!" Isabel said.

Levi turned to look at them, "If anyone asks, tell them I went to view the terrain."

"Got it!"

He increased his speed and took one last look at them: Isabel who was waving her hand in the air, Furlan who remained calm and (y/n) who gave him a worried look, but later gave him a smirk as if to say 'knock 'em dead'. Their figures vanished into the mist as they went their ways.

"Where to now?" Isabel asked

"We'll head west," (y/n) said taking control, "the formation seems to be headed that way,"she tilted her head towards the faint green flame on her left, and we might be able to catch up with him.

She steered her horse to the west direction, Furlan and Isabel behind her. Suddenly, they heard the faint sounds of stomping slowly coming towards them.

"Someone tell me I'm not the only one who can hear that." Isabel said worriedly.

In the fog, she saw a dark blurry object. Then she realized...

"Move out of the way!" (y/n) yelled as a titan foot stomped on her horse causing her to fly away. She hit her back against a tree.

"(y/n)!" Furlan yelled.

Suddenly there were screams coming from Isabel. (y/n) opened her eyes and saw it. A titan had taken hold of Isabel as it put her inside its mouth. There was a loud chomp as Isabel's head fell away from the jaws of the titan. Her eyes grew wide at the sight of it. This... this can't be. A titan shouldn't...? She felt something soft and squishy underneath her. She couldn't believe her eyes, it was the decapitated torso of one of her comrades. It wiped them out!

Then she heard stomping sounds coming towards her. She looked up to face another titan.

"I...I..." she stuttered as if she was trying to communicate with it.

"Over here you dirty bastard!" Flagon yelled as he flew in front of it, "Come at me you lump of meat! (l/n), are you alright?!"

"I'm fine," she said, ejecting her grappling from her gear. She went to the titan that came towards him, slicing the thick piece of flesh on its neck as steam came out of the cut.

"Where's Furlan?" she asked

"I don't know." He said as he turned around and started heading for another titan. Out of nowhere, a titan with red eyes came from behind him.

"Look out!" she yelled as it came up from behind him and chewed him up, spitting out his upper body.

She screamed in fear. Sht! What do I do? Everyone's gone, Isabel's dead, and I lost Furlan. It began to approach her slowly, as flashbacks of her memories came to her.

"Heh..." she gave a nervous laugh to herself, "is this what it means to have your life flash before your eyes?"

The tian came fast and faster as her body grew tense with every step it took.

"(y/n)!" someone yelled and pushed her away, causing her to hit the same tree. She heard a loud chomp followed by the sound of a scream. She looked at the titan that attempted to eat her. Her eyes grew wide at what she saw.

"Furlan!" she yelled as the titan gnawed onto his bones and spat him out.

He's...both of them...she thought as she collapsed to her knees, It was because I told them to go here...it's because I did nothing and just watched. Because I'm weak they're dead. Her heart began to beat faster and stronger as a sudden lust for rage and blood began to fill the empty hole in her. No! I have to fight! I promised Levi, I promised all of them we will make it out of this hell alive! With or without Isabel and Furlan! I have to fight!

"You..." she whispered, "You sick bastard!" She yelled at the titan, "How dare you kill all of my friends?!"

The titan looked at her with its full attention. She gritted her teeth and held a tight grip onto her blades, soaked in blood of the titans mixed with her comrades.

"I swear..." she whispered, "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" she released the grappling from her gear and aimed straight for its eyes. I promise you, Levi, she thought, I'm not going anywhere!

"DIE YOU SON OF A BTCH!" She raised her blades into the air ready to strike.

"(y/n)!" She heard a familiar voice yell as tears began to brim her eyes. She turned to look at him, his arm reaching out for her. "Levi..." she whispered.

The titan opened its mouth and dug its sharp teeth into her flesh, destroying her internal organs. She screamed mentally inside for she didn't want Levi to see her scared.

Her memories of him flashed before her eyes.

'It's beautiful...'

'Hey moron,'

'You're hopeless...'

'You're an idiot...'

'You're mine...'

'I love you...(y/n)'

Tears began to overflow on her eyes as she attempted to stab its eye but instead stabbed its cheek. She let go of her blades. Please, I just want to go home...She reached out her arm weakly. Levi Ackerman, I love you...too.

"Le-"She whispered unfinished as the titan intercepted by biting off her body, swallowing her legs and spat out her torso.

Her eyes were wide open as she watched light flash before her as the silhouette of the short raven haired man disappeared.

A/N: I actually felt like crying when writing this part. So I actually noticed this when I was writing Chapter 15 but I didnt want to write it there because of spoilers even though you know what happened but here it is anyways: Recall the time where they were in the underground and how they were captured. Both Furlan and Isabel seemed fine while the reader ended up bleeding sicne she held some sort of resistance towards the scouts. The way I saw this was the level of severity to how they died: Furlan and Isabel died and Levi didnt know it, however he saw his lover died which was even worse and he just stood there.
