(Y/n) stood silently in the hallway, keeping an eye out for Erwin. Damn, why is this taking forever? Suddenly, she heard a sound, like the hoot of an owl, and ran away from her spot.
She met up with Isabel and Levi, followed by Furlan, who had just gotten out of Erwin's office.
"Did you find anything?" She asked him.
"No. It's probably best if we didn't assume it was in his room."
"Damnit. Where do you think he would place it?"
"What would you do if you really want to keep something safe?" Furlan directed the question toward Isabel.
Isabel patted her stomach. "In my stomach band, duh1"
(y/n) face palmed, "I highly doubt that Erwin would wear a stomach band. However, it could be with him."
Furlan nodded, "I was thinking if we could use the Expedition to our advantage. The others and Erwin will most likely be focused on the Titans outside the wall. After that, we just wait for our chance."
"I see," (y/n) placed her hand under her chin, "it's worth a shot. What about you Levi? What do you think?"
"Sure," said the short man coldly, not looking at them, and instead contemplating on something else. He recalled that time where the three were captured. Most, he remembered how badly she was injured "but I'm going alone."
"What?!"
"The three of you come up with an excuse and stay behind."
"Levi, what are you saying?!"
"We haven't even seen what a Titan really is and it will be our first time outside the walls. It might take all we've got just to make it back alive." He uncrossed his arms, "I'll manage somehow if I'm by myself."
"But-!" the girls exclaimed in unison only to be cut off by Furlan.
"So you're saying that we can't handle it, right?" His tone sounded different from his usual calm one.
"That's right." Levi replied.
Isabel hopped off from where she sat, "How can you say that when you don't even know unless we've tried?!"
"She's got a point, Levi." (y/n) backed her up, as she put a hand on Levi's shoulder, "What's wrong with you? You're never like this."
"If you don't stay behind, then this conversation is done!" He yelled, slapping her hand away, "we'll wait for another time." He started to walk away.
(y/n) looked at her hand. She ran her hand onto the red, aching area where he hit her. "Levi! Wait!" She yelled as she chased after him and followed him up to the roof.
"Levi," she said walking towards him and sat down next to him, "look, just because you think that the three of us are not capable of surviving outside doesn't mean that you know for sure."
He remained silent and fixed his eyes on the darkness above them.
"I understand you're trying to protect us," she said looking at the ground, her feet dangling off the edge of the castle, "but you have to learn to trust others. You can't be around forever protecting us. We have to learn how to deal with things like this-"
"I'm doing this," she heard him whisper so that only the both of them could hear, "to protect you." She looked at him, her eyes widened at what he had said.
"Levi," The two of them turned around to see Furlan coming from the door, Isabel behind him, "we have to talk about this. It's just as dangerous for you to go outside and on your own!" He explained
"Also," Isabel said, "you were the one that said that when we first step outside, it will be the four of us all at once. Did you forget?!"
Levi turned away to face the ground, "it's the same."
"Huh?" (y/n) said
"No matter how hard I look at it, even when you can't see the moon or the stars, the sky is still nothing. It's just as the same as it was down there."
She looked at him, remembering what she had said, "What are you...," she whispered only audible enough for the both of them.
"The color of the sky sure," said Furlan, "but-"
"But it's different!" Isabel exclaimed as all of them looked at her, "We know there's no ceiling!"
(y/n) gave out a slight laugh, even she sees it Levi.
"It may just be dark but it's very different from underground."
Suddenly, (y/n) noticed a bright light, shining on her. She looked up and saw the clouds begin to move away, "Look!" She exclaimed as she pointed like a little child. The other three looked up to the sky that revealed a pure white pearl shimmering in the sea.
"See," Isabel said sitting beside (y/n), "there's a huge difference."
"Yeah," Furlan said as he sat down beside Levi, "we're not underground."
The four of them looked up to admire the beauty of the moon, as it shone brighter and brighter in the sky.
"We're never going back there," (y/n) whispered.
"She's right bro," Isabel said, "The four of us have always pulled through haven't we? It will be the same with the Titans. Let's do this together!"
"Levi," (y/n) looked at him, "believe in us." She gave him a small smile and he looked at her for one second before looking back at the sky. The stars began shining like diamonds as shooting stars came passing by.
She saw Levi smile, "Alright, I believe in you."
"Yay!" Isabel exclaimed, nearly jumping out of her seat, "Bro sure is a stubborn one isn't he?"
They all laughed. (y/n) smiled at Levi and took his hand in hers, while the other two kept their eyes fixed on the sky. He held her hand tightly as they watched the scenery together.
