A few weeks passed and Isabel had already learned to use the gear. She was a lot like (y/n) the first time, dangling upside down, but she was much quicker in picking up balance. The four even decided to have a small campfire outside in the back after training. Telling jokes and singing songs. However, Levi was just there, arms crossed with (y/n), nudging him with her elbow forcing him to sing or at least laugh. Levi threatened her and she put her hands up as a sign of surrender.

When Isabel had finished training, they all decided to fly around the city. (y/n) could feel the wind in her face as she stretched out her arms, along with Isabel who did the same thing. Eventually the quartet returned home, but little did they know, their lives were about to change.

An old man, who looked like he lived in the high social class in the interior, was waiting down by their stairway. He was checking his pocket watch as he turned around and noticed them.

"What do you want old man?" Isabel asked, her hands behind her head.

"I came here for a business request," said the man.

"We don't take orders for surface people like you," (y/n) said, crossing her arms, "if you want something done find some other people to do your sht."

"I promise a reward."

"Go away" Levi said rudely in an instant, walking past the man, the other three following behind.

"I've already done the deposit though," said the man.

"Yeah right," Furlan said who was behind Isabel, "this is the first time we've seen you."

"But I'm sure you know about him," the man looked towards the direction of a mysterious black carriage near an alley. From the alley immerged two figures carrying a familiar figure, (y/n) recognizing it almost in an instant.

"Jan!" Furlan exclaimed

"What do you want from him?!" (y/n) yelled in anger as she gritted her teeth.

"His leg is almost at its limit," said the man, "he needs a better hospital, most likely in the surface. Isn't that right, Levi?"

Her eyes grew wide at the mention of Levi's name. She looked at him with questions swarming through her brain like flies. Was this why you kept leaving early in the morning? Was this where you went that one time? Was this... was this what you kept secret from me? Levi didn't notice her and remained focused on the mysterious man.

"Tch," she said, "What is the meaning of this?!" Her hands began to curl into a fist, her knuckles began to turn white and her hand red as her nails dug into her own skin.

"I told you didn't I?" said the man, "it's a deposit for the job. You will listen now won't you?"

She looked at Levi, waiting for his response. "Fine," he said.

She looked away and looked at Jan instead. Levi taking notice of what she was doing. At least... he'll get better, she thought.

The man led them to the staircase without payment for passing. They all walked in silence, in the torch lit hall, with nothing but the sound of their heels clicking and dragging onto the stone. The stairs eventually led them to a light. Sunlight, she thought. It blinded their sight and (y/n) squinted her eyes allowing her to see what was above. Another carriage, with another man inside. The man earlier stood beside the door.

"Are they the ones?" The man in the carriage asked.

"Yes. I hear they're the best of the best." The man earlier explained.

"Who the hell are you?" Levi asked in his same cold tone.

"I see you are aware of who I am." Said the man in the carriage, "You'll understand it's okay to trust me."

"Tch," (y/n) scoffed, "how can we trust you?"

"Me being here says everything. It is an even greater risk for myself. Have you received the deposit already?"

"I don't know how things work up there," Levi said, "but where we're from its called taking a hostage."

"It's only a small plan we placed. If you have completed the job successfully, you won't only be receiving a large sum of money...but also... a citizenship on the surface."

(y/n) couldn't believe her ears. Did I hear that right? A citizenship...to live up there? Again? How much...has changed...since I was last...up there?"

Levi noticed the look in her eyes, hope and anger and confusion, He knew how desperately she wanted to live up there and he wanted to go to the surface with her.
