Chapter II
A Loyal Heart
"Am I not late?" Mandy asked. Mandy Kristine Allison, a kind, lovely, cute, 14-year old teen who is sitted beside Toby in their classroom. She is the best in chemistry class. She studies in advance because she needed it for her course. She comforted Toby when he failed in loving someone. "It's even 7:20 in the morning isn't it we start at 8?" Toby said. Afterwards the others followed. It was a delightful morning to him as the whole class talked about the incoming Intramurals a week after.
"Attention. To all the Third Year cheering and squad participants, please proceed to the gymnasium now. May I reiterate, to all the Third Year cheering and squad participants, please proceed to the gymnasium now. Thank you" the Public Announcer announced
"Heard the P.A guys!?? Awesome!!!! We will practice!!!! Hahahahahaha" one of his classmates said.
"Yeah! No lessons!!" Said another.
"What's all this noise about!? Keep quiet!" Their teacher said as she approached the classroom. The noise has deccelerated into silence as they were scolded by their teacher. "Well, atleast we will not take lessons today." Mandy said. Toby didn't respond, instead he nodded at her. They started leaving the classroom as their teacher instructed. As they went to the said area, Toby, along with his bestfriend David, talked about the behavior of their close friend, Natalie Madison. Natalie Madison is a simple, silent, emotionless 15-year old girl who only pertains to one belief: avoiding too much attraction to people as it gives too much suffering to a person once the one that is being attached to the person is gone. She also believed that the quantity of being attached is directly proportional to the loss of attachment. She also gave Toby an advice regarding topic about girlfriends: "It's good that you still don't have girlfriend at a young age because there will only come a time that you/she will hurt her/you. "She doesn't keep her promises Toby!" David said. "Well it is her freedom as well but judging on the consequences that she will experience, I doubt she won't keep that." Toby replied. The two continued with their conversation until they reached their destination.
"Alright settle and arrange yourselves according to your section. We'll see if it is organized." The teacher said. Toby and David were both not good in dancing so they preferred Squad than Cheerdancing. The squad were becoming noisy, groups of people hanging around together disobeying the instructions of the teacher. "All of you go back to your positions! We will go back to our classroom if you don't want to practice!" the teacher shouted. Everyone kept quiet. "Well that was quick" David whispered to Toby. "Yeah, by the way, where is Gregor?" He asked David. Gregor Rogers, a fair, genius, funny, 15-year old boy who is the cousin of Toby and at the same time buddy. He always partner with Toby whenever there are tandem works. Always the rival of Molly Radcliff. As for Molly, she is the leading first honor in their class and won a lot of titles. Gregor and Molly are the best rivals Toby would know. "I don't know my friend" David replied.
"Oh well I will assign someone who shall teach you some moves and at the same time discipline you all. Gwen please come here." The teacher said. Gwendolyn Ashwood, tall, pretty, gorgeous, cheerful, 15-year old girl who loves fashion. She devotes herself to beauty and at the same time fabulousness. Bestfriend of Mandy and always with her during pictures, She will promise to Mandy that she will never leave her side.
As the squad becomes noisy again, Gwen shouted " KEEP QUIEEEETT!!!!! IF YOU WANT NOISE, GO BACK TO YOUR CLASSROOM!"
"You just imitated what ma'am said" one third year student said.
"Yeah, he's right" said another.
The noise became worse. She don't know what she will do. Until a voice shattered the noise of the squad "Well logically people these days seem to be annoying. They make noise about what's happening around. Well if you keep on doing that, soon you will discuss topic about our loss in the cheering competition and regrets at the end so can we practice now?"
After the practice, Gwen approached the man who disciplined the students and said, "thank you". The man left and ignored her but she knew he did the right thing. Focusing on Toby and David:
"Look at Natalie. Entertaining Matthew while practicing. She doesn't keep her promises." David said.
"Yeah, do not mind her. She might be doing that on purpose." Toby replied
"Well, we can't say that because she looks happy while talking to that guy."
"That's the point David, Natalie is a good actress and she can just pretend as long as the others don't have a keen eye. I'm just saying this, don't base on one instance where you always see at your point of view. It can sometimes blind you from reality and can lead you to false truths. We may not know what's in her mind but all we need to do now is to wait for the outcome of her actions."
"You have a point but I think my perspective is blinding me now."
"At the same time don't overthink also, it will lead you to one instance where you think the instance is the reality."
"Ha! As if you don't overthink always last December while talking to Natalie."
"I admit I was overthinking too much but I am trying to avoid it now."
Then they both said "Matthew really has a loyal heart, hasn't he?"
