School resumed, and our senior prank mess cleaned up. As we sat in class, an announcement came over the loudspeaker.
Attention all seniors! Please report to the gymnasium! Thank you!
I looked at Drew, and he looked at me. We shrugged, getting up with everyone else to head to the gym. I had to wonder if the hammer was going to come down about the senior prank. God only knows.
We met Matt and Elijah in the hallway as we walked towards the gym. Once we all gathered, they had the seniors sit in the bleachers until all seniors were present.
Principal Cassen came out with a microphone and spoke, "I guess you're wondering why we called you down here? If you think if it was because of the senior prank, well, you're wrong. Even though we have our suspicions."
The four of us looked up and around the gym as Cassen continued, "No, the reason we called every one of you down here, we are having a senior class trip coming up in the next two weeks."
We all looked at each other, as did everyone else.
"Our senior trip will be at a ski lodge," Cassen said, causing everyone to cheer and clap.
"Now, before you all get too excited, there are a few things we need to address regarding the senior trip. First, we will need permission slips signed, and there will be a cost to attend. This cost will help cover the expense of the ski lodge rooms and travel expenses. Second, we will assign the rooms."
The minute Cassen said that I groaned. The thought of having to share a room with girls from school was less appealing since I didn't get along with most of them.
"Third, you must pass your classes to attend, since it is a school function. Last but not least, if there are any problems with any students, we will not hesitate to send you home along with a suspension from school and any other school functions. Now, we will pass out the permission slips so that you can take them all home. Thank you," Cassen said as he left the gym.
They gave all of us a permission slip, and I took mine, then looked at it. I wanted to go, but the thought of sharing a room with a girl who's mean to me, made me feel depressed. I took the piece of paper and shoved it into my bag. We all got up and returned to class.
Most of the day, I was quiet, letting my mind wander to the ski trip. The more I thought about it, the more it left a sour taste in my mouth. Once school was over, we all went home with the guys talking enthusiastically about the trip. I think I was dreading it, especially if Maddox will be there.
I went straight to my bedroom when we got there. Matt looked at Drew. "What's up with Liz?"
"I don't know. Ever since the school announced the senior ski trip, Liz's mood turned sour. I'll go see what's up with her," Drew said, heading upstairs to my bedroom.
Matt and Elijah walked into the kitchen to find our parents in there, prepping dinner. They told them about the ski trip and showed the permission slip. Dad and Jordan looked at the permission slips, then Dad asked, "Is this where they are holding it?"
"Yeah," Matt said.
"Do you know who owns that lodge?" Jordan asked.
"It looks familiar," added Elijah.
Dad and Jordan looked at each other and smirked as Dad said, "Your grandparents own it, geniuses."
Matt and Elijah looked at each other and yelled.
"God, you two are worse than chicks," Drew said, walking into the kitchen.
"Bro, our grandparents, own the lodge we're going to," Matt said.
