We got stuck in our hotel room, and Junior checked only to find some men coming down the hallway. He shut the door quietly and locked it. He motioned towards the window to climb through it. We couldn't stay in the hotel room, or we were sitting ducks.
Once outside, Junior closed the window, and we moved to the fire escape, climbing up the ladder to another level and made our way until we were on top of the roof. We had to keep moving until we found an open window and made our way down to it. Climbing inside another hotel room, we shut the window. Then we heard movement outside of the window and stopped, staying quiet.
They turned the door handle, and the guys pulled their weapons as the door opened. The guy aimed at us as Elijah yelled, "Duck."
Junior ducked as Elijah spun around, throwing a knife into the guy's head, making him fall to the ground.
"Come on," shouted Junior. We all ran from the room, stepping over the guy. We hurried our way down the hallway. Then two guys stepped out at each end of the hall, opening fire, making us dive into corners. Junior peered around the corner and fired a shot, dropping the one guy as Drew dropped the other guy.
Once the Junior and Drew clear the path, we continued, making our way through the hallway. We turned the corner as Matt came face to face with a guy and hauled off, hitting him with the brass knuckles. Matt caught the guy again and knocked him out, then another guy appeared from a distance, and he threw the stars with precision, landing one star in the guy's neck and one in his back when he turned, making him drop.
"How many more are there?" Matt asked.
"Enough and probably more," Drew said, checking his gun.
"How much longer before reinforcements arrive, Junior?" Elijah asked.
Junior looked at his watch. "Thirty minutes. Come on; we need to get out of here."
As we made our way downstairs, someone grabbed me and put a gun to my head. Drew turned and yelled, "Liz!" They ran back towards me as I struggled with the guy. They looked at us and Drew glared at the guy. "Marshall."
Marshall smirked, cocking the gun. I closed my eyes. Was this it? Would my life end at the hands of a Frazier family member? Do I let it happen, or do I fight? All those times flashed across my mind. All the things their family did to mine. The years of abuse and bullying I endure from Maddox's hands.
I decided. Do I let it end here, or do I fight? I opened my eyes, and my chocolate brown eyes met Drew's ocean blue eyes, and he said, "Dylan."
I knew. At that moment, I knew that I had to fight. I let the fear go. Then Drew's words crossed my mind. "Fear makes us weak, and that's what they prey on with people. Don't let fear control you, or you let them win." I wasn't letting fear control me.
I reached into my pocket and slid out the taser. I said, "Not today, asshole! Never!" Then I pressed it against his arm and pressed the button, sending volts of electricity through his body. He released me and fell to the ground, convulsing on the floor. I ran to Drew, and he grabbed me, hugging me.
As Drew hugged me, he saw Marshall reach for his gun and pushed me to Matt as he walked over and aimed the gun at him, "It's over." Marshall looked at Drew and Drew pulled the trigger, shooting Marshall in the head.
Drew walked back to us as I yelled, "Drew behind you!"
Before Drew turned, a bullet flew at him, hitting his upper arm. He grabbed his arm. "You fucker! You fucking shot me!" They fire again at us with Drew charging the guy. The guys were hot on Drew's heels. Drew tackled the gunman. He started hitting him. "You never fucking learn! And you fucking shot me! I finished with your stupid ass!"
