4- Rage And Jealousy

Betty's POV
As we walked up mooses street we could hear all the commotion coming from the party. The ground was vibrating, the music was blasting and as you got closer to his house the trail of red solo cups became thicker. I linked my arm with Archie's prior to walking in, it's not that I didn't know anyone at the party I just didn't feel like losing him within the first 5 minutes of being there.
"God, Moose sure knows how to throw a party! It's pretty packed and wild in here!" Archie said as we stood in the centre of what I was guessing is the lounge room.
"All I can smell is cheap beer and the sweat of hormonal teenagers! But I can see a lot of arm candy in the crowd!" Veronica stated as she looked around the party
I slightly giggled to myself upon hearing this, you never know what your going to get with Veronica it's always interesting.
"What you laughing at B? You can't tell me there isn't a decent amount of hot arm candy in this room!"
I felt Archie's arm tense underneath my hand "I don't know, some of them I guess but then again I've know most of these boys since they've being picking there noses so there not that attractive in my eyes." I exclaimed as I looked towards Veronica
I felt Archie's body slowly relax and loosen up under my grip as soon as I said that.
"Alright well I'm going to take a look around and see if I can find Moose, are you guys going to be okay?" Archie asked with concern in tone and eyes
"It's okay we'll be fine, we're B and V. As long as where together everything will be okay." I said in a reassuring tone.
Archie smiled at us and turned and walked away fading into the crowd of the party and as soon as he was out of sight I turned to Veronica.

Veronica's POV
"So did you find anything out?" Betty asked in intrigue whilst fiddling with her fingers
"Sorry B, I haven't yet. I'm gonna try and find him and see what I can find out, okay?" I said feeling bad about leaving Betty alone and also about not telling her what Archie told me but I feel it'd be better for the two of them if they hear it from each other.
"Alright, that's fine Im gonna take a look around anyway. Go do that and come find me or call me if you find anything!" Betty says as she starts to walk towards the hallway, leaving me in the lounge determined to find Archie.
I find Archie in the kitchen talking to Moose and Reggie about the latest football plays.
"Hey it's V!" Reggie says in a loud voice engulfing me in a tight hug.
"Okay reggie, you are definetly in a good mood, that's a change!" I say with a chuckle
"Anyway boys I need to borrow Mr Andrews for a bit, if that's okay." I say while grabbing Archie's arm.
I drag him up the stairs and into an empty, quiet corridor.
"Okay, all clear. So what's your plan Archiekins?"
"Honestly Ronnie, I have no clue what so ever. I've being trying to think of it all night but it's either too little or too extream." Archie says in frustration
"Want my advice Archie. I've known you and Betty for over a year now and I know how fondly you speak of one another. Your friendship is so pure and honest and has being built up to something so incredible that not a lot of people get. So in my opinion just tell her. No fancy presents, nothing. Just your words coming from your heart."
I can see a slight tear forming in Archie's eyes.
"What if it's not enough Ronnie, or what if I hurt her again or worse lose her. I don't want to go through that, I can't imagine my life without her. But I don't deserve her. She could have anyone but she choose me, she cares for me like nobody else does and I worry that I won't be able to do the same."
Archie leans against the wall with his head hanging low looking at his shoes while is hands rest on his thighs.
"Hey listen to me Archie, we all fall for people we don't expect to and we believe we don't deserve them but there the ones worth fighting for."
He nods in reply and slowly gives me a hug.
"Now go get her Archie."

Betty's POV
After leaving Veronica, I slowly walk up the stairs and begin exploring the rest of the house whilst running into several people.
It's being about an hour or so since I left Veronica I wonder if she's found anything out. I pull out my phone and go to call her but no answer.i send her a text instead and then begin to explore the rest of the upper section of the house.
As I exit the room I was in, I see two figures in the distance up the hallways. I recognise them as Archie and Veronica so I decided to walk up to them and see what they where talking about but then next thing I heard and saw infuriated me.
"We all fall for people we don't expect to and we believe we don't deserve them but there the ones worth fighting for." The next thing I knew they where holding eachother so tight. I knew it didn't mean anything because Veronica wouldn't do that to me but my body still filled with jealousy and rage, which I couldn't handle it. I needed to take my mind off Archie, I headed down stairs and into the kitchen to get some water. My body slowly calmed down a little but I could still feel the jealousy and anger.
"Hey it's the other half of B and V! It's B!" Reggie exclaimed in excitement.
"What's going on B, you okay." Reggie asked with concern
"Yeah I'm fine just got a lot on my mind."
"Well you know what the best cure for that is?" Reggie said in happiness
"Dancing!" He practically yelled so loud you could hear it from a mile away
"Come on Betty, lets go." Reggie exclaimed as he grabbed my wrist and pulled me too the dance floor and started moving around whilst holding my hand.
I had to admit it was relaxing and fun dancing around. I felt my body move closer to reggie in the crowded room of people, there wasn't much room for personal space.
I felt one of reggies hands rest on my lower back, as a way of making our body's move at the same time. I held my arms up in the air and started moving them around slightly in a smooth manner whilst swaying my body. They eventually came back down and rested on Reggies shoulders, as we continued dancing, the room became even more crowded pushing me and reggie closer together to the point where our noses where touching. We looked into each other's eyes before both leaning in and moulding our mouths together. I linked my arms behind reggies neck as the kiss deepened and his hands slowly moved further down my jeans till they where resting on my ass. I don't know why I didn't stop the kiss, it felt so wrong in so many ways but the jealousy I had inside me made it feel so right. The next thing I knew reggie was being planted on the ground and being punched by Archie.

Archie's POV
"Now go get her Archie"
"Thanks Ronnie for everything, you really are a great friend you know." I said in a sincere voice
Veronica laughed and smiled to herself "I know Archie, your not to bad a friend yourself. But nothing makes me happier than seeing you and Betty together. Now go get her!"
I quickly ran down the stairs and searched the entire house for Betty but I couldn't find her. That was until I saw a glimpse of her golden hair on the dance floor in a sea of people. This was it, I had to tell her, nothing else mattered right now except for her. As I got closer, my excitement and nervousness was growing, but the next thing I saw brought out a ball of jealousy from me.
Betty was making out with Reggie.
The more I watched the more my heart broke by the minute. I could feel my body temperature slowly increasing and my heartbeat beating more and more rapidly. I couldn't stand this, it didn't make any sense and of all people reggie. He's just tool and a arrogant arsehole, he's not good enough for Betty, he's just going to hurt her and use her. I could feel my jaw clenching as my teeth gritted against each other, I couldn't stand it, I had to do something. I started running towards reggie and tackled him to the ground, pinning him against the floor whilst punching him repeatedly in the face. He quickly pushed me off and pushed me against a wall whilst punching me in the face and stomach, I could the bruises coming along especially after Reggies right hook against my left eye. I suddenly kicked him off and punched him 3 last times until Moose and Chuck pulled me off. I turned to look at Betty as they pushed me towards the front door. I could see the tears in her eyes and the disappointment on her face. This is why I can't be with her I'll just disappoint her all the time, she deserves someone better, i thought to myself.
"Listen Arch, you need to go home!" I heard Moose say as he pulled me outside
"No absolutely not, I'm not leaving Betty here especially with Reggie." I yelled
"Alright man okay, I'll get Veronica to give her a lift home after you leave. But you need to walk this anger off buddy, okay?" Moose asked
"Yeah, sure whatever."
I slowly proceeded down the street in the direction of home. My body felt weak and broken and I couldn't get the image of Betty's face out of my mind. I came to a corner and leant up against the stop sign pole and just stoked there. I can't believe it I've hurt her again.
"Your an idiot Andrews, so stupid!" I started saying to myself
"You've possibly lost the best person in your life and you can't fix that" I couldn't help my anger and I went to punch the metal pole, to angry to think about the pain that would occur. After five minutes of dwelling in sorrow I continued the 10 minute walk home.

Betty's POV
I can't believe Archie, he had no reason to hurt reggie like that. Granted there not the best of friends there more like frenamies but still, that's no excuse. I'm so mad at him for what he did but I couldn't help but worry about him, he did take a pretty bad beating.
"B, there you are! I've being look for you for the last 15 minutes. Are you okay? What happened?"
"Me yeah I'm fine just Archie and Reggie got in a fight!"
"What! Why?!" Veronica screamed
"I'm not sure, I was just walking around trying to find you and arch and when I did it looked like a pretty intimate moment but I know it wasn't but I just got all jealous and reggie was trying to cheer me up by dancing with me and one thing led to another and we started making out and the next thing I knew Archie and Reggie where fighting." I said in calm but confused tone
"You what? You kissed reggie? What about Archie? What about the conversation we had 2 hours ago?" Veronica asked in confusion
"I still love archie and I have zero feelings for reggie I was just angry, jealous and vulnerable so we kissed, but that's it."
"Wow that's intense!"
"Yeah I know, do you mind if you give me a lift home plus I really need to speak to Archie, I need to get out of here."
"Yeah sure come on B." Veronica said as we headed out the front door and into her car.

Outside Betty and Archie's house
"Do you want me to come in with you?"
"No it's okay, plus I think I need to speak with him on my own."
"Yeah that's fair enough, well this has being an interesting start to winter break. Call me if you need anything. And I want to know everything tomorrow!" Veronica said with a giggle and a smirk.
I got out of the car and watched Veronica drive off, I pulled out my spare key to Archie's house which I normally wouldn't use because Fred would be home but he was away for the weekend so Archie was home alone.
I couldn't help but feel angry all over again, there are so many unanswered questions from tonight that I need to know. I opened the front doer and walked in shutting the door behind me. I heard noice coming from the kitchen. I put my purse down and stormed towards the kitchen to find archie standing by the sink with an ice pack against his face. He looked at me in total confusion.
"Betty what the hell are you doing here?"
"You mind explaining to me what the hell happened at Mooses Party?"
