Betty's POV
"Arch come on, you know I can't throw that far and my arm is starting to ache!" I exclaimed as Archie began running backwards at least 20 metres.
"Don't worry you'll be fine! Two more throws I promise and then we'll move onto to defence." He shouted across the field with the goofiest smile.
"Alright fine, but I'm adding in a burger for our deal at pops, I'm so hungry!" I said in the most grumbly voice.
"Alright deal, now will you please just throw me the ball" Archie said as he started jumping up and down on the spot.
I grabbed the ball in my hands, I've never being one to be too interested in football but I went to all of Archie's games and picked up on some of the technique. I threw the ball in Archie's direction with all my force, for only the ball to go 10 metres. I heard Archie chuckle to himself in amusement as he watched me.
"What are you laughing at? I'm not you I don't play football 24/7 and have huge muscled arms." I scowled at Archie whilst he started running towards me.
"It's not that Betty, all your technique is right, the power, the stance. You just aren't holding the ball in the proper way. Here give me your hand."
Archie took my hand in his and picked the ball up from the ground, he spread my fingers apart and the placed the football in my hand.
"Okay see here, your index finger should be closest to the back of the football while all the others are spread out evenly across. And your thumb should be right in the centre on the other side." I couldn't help but watch Archie as he looked at my hands and the football. The way he was so focused and determined, it was one of the many qualities of him that I love. And the way his hands felt against mine, granted they where bigger and had a rougher feel but they felt so smooth and delicate to me.
"Alright you got it Betty?" He asked snapping me out of my daze.
"Um yeah I think so."
"Alright, now just aim towards that bench over there, it's about 15 metres away. Okay ready 3,2,1...Throw!"
I threw the ball with all my power towards the bench. We watched as it spiralled towards it through the air. It landed just by the leg of the bench.
"Yes! Did you see that Arch that throw was incredible." I squealed in excitement whilst jumping up and down.
"That was incredible Betty really." He said with a light chuckle and the most heart warming smile.

Archie's POV
"Alright on to defence or more specific tackling and blocking." I said with a cheer in my voice
"Wait what no! Your not practicing you tackling on me, absolutely not." Betty said with disapproval in her voice and furrowed eye brows. God she was so beautiful
"Oh come on Betty please, just a few then we can go to Pops." I asked with the biggest puppy dog eyes.
"Don't go giving me those eyes Andrews, don't even try." Betty exclaimed with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Besides why do you have to tackle me? Why can't I tackle you?" Betty asked with a serious tone.
"Betty come on you couldn't tackle me. Look at me I'm double your size." I said with a grin on my face.
"Alright well, id like to test that theory. Come on stand here." Betty said while placing me in a random spot on the grass. I watched as she turned with cheeky smile and walked away. She turned around and faced me.
"You ready Arch?"
"Show me what you got betts."
She started running towards me at a fast pace with determination all over her face. I got my self in to position but before I knew it I had being shoved to ground into the mud. I looked up to see Betty lying flat out on my chest while smiling and giggling to herself.
"See I told you I could do it."
"Alright alright, I was wrong very very wrong" I said in defeat with a chuckle.
"Your never going to let me forget this are you?" I asked Betty with a sound of pity.
"Nope not a chance Archie Andrews." Betty said while resting her chin on chest.
I lightly laughed to myself and slowly started to sit up with Betty still resting on chest. She moved down and rested herself on my leg whilst I placed a hand around her waist to support her balance. I noticed a speck of mud had fallen on her face, even with dirt she still looked like the most gorgeous human to me.
"Betty?"
"Yeah, what is it Arch?" She asked with intrigue
I lightly laughed to myself, "you have a speck of mud on your face." I said whilst pointing to her cheek.
"Oh crap!" She exclaimed while rubbing her cheeks only to smother if our a lot more.
"Is it gone?" I lightly chuckled to myself looking at her muddy face.
"Not exactly." I couldn't help but smile and laugh looking at her trying to get it off her face.
"Well don't just sit there laughing at me, help me!" She said in annoyance.
"Alright alright, just stop moving around." I got my hand and cupped her cheek while sipping my thumb across her cheek getting the remaining mud off. Her skin was so soft and pure and delicate. She didn't need any make up to stand out, she already did.
"There you go, all spick and span." I said whilst rubbing my thumb across her cheek one more time. I couldn't help but notice that was still cupping her cheek, whilst looking into her eyes. The most amazing eyes I've ever seen. So clear like the sky and so blue like the ocean, I can't count the amount of times I've got lost in these eyes. The distance between our faces slowly began to close as we leaned towards eachother. We where so close and I could feel her breath on my skin and our lips where so close to touching. When suddenly Betty's phone went off, startling the two of us.

Betty's POV
"Sorry just hang on." I said as I searched through my pockets for my
phone. I couldn't help but wonder what would've happened if the phone hadn't gone off.
"Who is it?" Archie asked trying to not to be nosy but I never cared when he asked.
"Oh it's just Veronica, she's double checking that I'm going tonight." I said with slight annoyance, way to kill the moment V, I thought to myself
"What's tonight?" He asked all puzzled
"Seriously Arch? Your on the football team i thought you'd know. Moose is having a party remember as a way to kick off winter break." I laughed slightly as i looked at Archie's facial expression.
"Oh shit, is that tonight? Well, what about Pops? Do you still wanna go?" Archie asked with sadness and most cutest puppy dog eyes ever. This boy makes me crazy.
"Of course Archie, I would never miss an opportunity for a milkshake and Fries." I exclaimed with a giggle.
I watched as his face lit up with happiness and joy. He slowly stood up and grabbed my hands pulling me up with him.
"Well we better get home and clean, I don't feel like going to Mooses looking like I just spent a week hiking in the forest."
Archie slightly chuckled so himself and looked at me and smiled. He was so handsome there was nothing about him that I didn't love.
"What do you say meet outside our houses at about 8:00?" I asked with a goofy smile
"Sure that sounds great! Now come on we better get home." Archie said as he picked up the football and we started heading in the direction of home.
