Betty's POV
"Arch, what are you looking for? You obviously can't find it!" I said with a hard laugh as I watched Archie rummage through cupboards in the kitchen.
"I need my onion goggles. I can't chop onion without them! Unless if you wanna see me cry my eyes out, I need the goggles!"
"You are such a baby, come here!" I said as I grabbed his arm and pulled him up and dragged him to the kitchen counter.
"The only way your going to get over this, is if you start doing it without your safety blanket, in this case your goggles." I said as I picked up the onion to hand it to him. He grabbed it out of my hand and started chopping it finely without crying. He looked at me with the biggest smirk on his face.
"Look at me no tears not a drop!" Argue said while shoving his eyes so close to my face.
I hit him lightly on the chest "alright don't go rubbing it in" I said as I laughedArchie's POV
About 1 hour later me and Betty where sitting at the dinning table eating dinner whilst reminiscing about old childhood stories.
"I did not! Your making that up!"
"I'm not I swear! You thought that if you ran fast another you could run across sweetwater river! It was pretty funny though when you just completely disappeared into the water." I said while trying hard not to spit out my food but also trying not to chock. Betty just glared at me, with her cheeks glowing a bright red from the embarrassment.
"Hey, I forgot to ask you earlier. But how'd things go with Reggie today?" I asked in a calm voice trying not to let my emotions get the better of me.
"They went pretty good actually. We cleared the air and confirmed that the kiss meant nothing. He actually has quite a thing for Veronica. Which reminds me I can't believe he knew that you had a thing for me before I did or even Veronica!" Betty exclaimed in a surprised tone
"Well I never actually told him, I just kind of kept saying your name in terms of presents and gifts and stuff and he kind of caught on that I liked you." I said with shy tone, looking down at my plate, trying to hide my glowing red cheeks. Betty reached across the table and linked her hand with mine
"Well look where we are now." She said with a gorgeous smile, I looked up at her and smiled at her whilst taking a deep breath. I couldn't believe how good my life was right now, it just pained me to know it wouldn't be smooth sailing forever.
After about another hour, we had finished dinner and washed the dishes and we both sat on the sofa cuddled up under a blanket watching E.T. I could feel the tears coming down my eyes as the part about Elliot's parents divorce came up, this happened a lot in movies when divorced was mentioned. It just reminded me of that fact that my parents are separated and as much as I want them to sort things out, I know it's better for everybody if there separated. I didn't want Betty to see me like this but before I could wipe away the tears, she turned her head in my direction with a happy smile for it only to fade away.
"Arch? Are you okay? What's wrong?" Betty asked while pausing the movie and turning on the couch to face me. She placed her hands on my cheeks and started wiping away my tears and giving me a small kiss on my jaw.
"Nothing it's fine, don't worry about it?" I said with a sniffle and a smile, but knowing Betty she wouldn't let this go.
"Come on Arch, if we're going to be together and make this work we need to talk to each other about things especially the hard things." Betty said while running her fingers slowly though my hair.
I sighed and lent my head back in both pleasure and comfort, knowing that she was right. I shuffled in my spot to face her better.
"You remember last year, when my dad went to Chicago to see my mum to finalise the divorce papers and they both ended up coming back? Well they never actually finalised anything mainly due to my drunk dial that night telling my dad not too. But anyway, basically you know how my dads being away this weekend? Well he's gone up to finalise the divorce with my mum." I said with a sigh and a sniffle
"I know it's for the best and everything but I guess in a way I just always hoped they'd get back together, but we can't always get what we want." I said with a light laugh looking in the opposite way trying to hide my pain. I could see Betty's eyes getting watery but she was trying to hold them back to be strong for me. I don't know what I did to deserve her.
Betty placed her hand of my cheek and turned my face so I was looking directly in her eyes, her other had still rested in my hair playing with the tips making me feel a little more relaxed.
"I know it's hard, but some things are meant to be and some good comes out that. If it hasn't yet then it will in the future. But both your parents are happy and I think that's the most important thing." Betty said as she stroked my cheek lightly with her soft hands. I bent my head slightly to the left kissing Betty's hand as a thank you. She pecked me on the lips lightly and leant our foreheads together. I grabbed her hands in mine and held them next to my heart so she could feel my heartbeat.
"I'm all yours Betty Cooper, forever and always. I love you." I said while holding back tears and looking in her eyes. Betty didn't say a word she just leaned in and kissed me. I couldn't explain fhe feeling I got when kissing Betty, there was something about her touch and kiss that drove my body into a frenzy. The kiss was like fire and it exploded with fireworks more and more each time, Betty slowly deepened the kiss by moving onto my lap. I slid my arms up the back of her shirt and rested them on her lower back whilst stroking circles in her back. She started to pull at the hem of my t shirt, lifting it slowly off my body. She started running her hands all over my body and up my back into my hair, I move my lips to her neck trying to find her sweet spot and I found it right above her collarbone. I could hear the slight moans escaping her lips as moved my hands slowly around her back. Our lips reconnected and moulded together a I slowly started leaning back into the couch and lying myself down whilst holding Betty close to me. I kissed her one more time before reaching behind my head and grabbing a blanket from behind me. I draped it over the two of us as we both got comfortable on the couch, me being below Betty while she lay on top of me with her fingers slowly stroking my chest.
"I wish it could stay this way forever." I heard Betty say quietly as she looked up to me. I placed my hand in her hair and stroked her cheek lightly.
"Me too. It won't be exactly the same but we can try." I said with a reassuring smile, as Betty leant up to peck my lips once more then slowly moving into a more comfortable position. She placed one hand on my chest and I placed one of her lower back both of us stroking circles on the other, falling asleep in the comfort of each other's arms.Betty's POV
I woke up to this wet feeling licking my face. I opened my eyes to see Vegas right up in my face.
"Vegas! Oh my god Vegas stop." I said as I giggled trying to push Vegas face away from mine, I could hear Archie chuckling behind me
"What are you chuckling at mr? I asked firmly
"Nothing absolutely nothing!" He stated. I slowly noticed Vegas sniffing around my clothes, I didn't think much of it until I saw him grab my pants and start to walk towards the doggy for which lead to the street, which neither Archie or I locked last night.
"VEGAS! VEGAS COME BACK!" I yelled after him. Before I knew it Archie was up off the couch in nothing but his boxers, chasing Vegas out the front door and down the street.
"Vegas! Come back boy!" I heard Archie yell as he ran after him. I figured since no one was home I'd use the shower.Archie's POV
Chasing Vegas was a nightmare, he kept turning all kinds of corners, till eventually he stopped on the brokers front lawn. I dived on the lawn and grabbed the pants while scolding at Vegas.
"Bad boy Vegas! You don't take Human clothes!" I scolded at him. I lay back on the grass, hoping to regain my breath. Until this figure hovered over me and blocked the sun.
"8 years later and your still chasing Vegas down the street." I stood up and looked at the figure
"Oh my god Haley! How are you?" I asked as I hugged her.
"I'm not too bad yourself, your clearly not the thin stick you use to be." She stated as she stared at my body, I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable at it, due to the fact that she's my ex and Betty is not my girlfriend and it just felt wrong.
"I'm alright! What are you doing back in town."
"Here for winter break. Mum wanted to come back and see family and I figured I'd come along to see the old gang."
"Well that's great, you should come over now and we'll call every one over." I said in excitement.
"That'd be great, I'd love to see everybody especially Betty and Juggie." With that we both headed back home.Betty's POV
After getting out of the shower, I rummaged through Archie's clothes trying to find a clean t shirt I could wear, due to the fact that I had nothing but underwear. I eventually settled on his Riverdale High gym t shirt. I heard the front door open and I sprinted down the stairs and jumped into Archie's arms, completely unaware of the other person in the room.
"Thank you so much Arch, you are a total lifesaver." I said while kissing him on the lips passionately.
"It's not problem may of lost my dignity but it's all worth it if it means I get to see you smile." Archie said with that dreamy smile that made my heart melt into a pool of liquid.
"Oh guess who I found on my chase?" Archie said as he wrapped an arm around my waist and moved to reveal the last person I was expecting to see, Haley Gatcum. The girl me and Archie grew up with, who use to be my best friend and who also happened to be Archie's first girlfriend. I couldn't help but feel so insecure now that she was here.
"Hey Betty." She said as she walked towards me, we left things on good terms but I couldn't help but predict drama up ahead.
