Bettys POV
It was difficult not to run after Archie again as I watched him walk away. Just being back in his arms and feeling his lips against mine and the strong ocean breeze of his cologne, it drove me crazy. As he was walking away he was constantly turning his head back to meet my gaze, causing me to bite my lip to the point where I was surprised I hadn't torn the a rip in it.
I slowly turned on my heels as I proceeded back up the pathway to my front door, opening it as quietly as I could before seeing my mum standing at the bottom of the stairs with her arms folded over her chest. "Oh my god mum, You scared me. What are you doing?" I questioned as I slid my jacket off before hanging it on the coat hanger by the front door. "You're late Elizabeth." She stated in a stern tone as she cocked her eyebrow at me. "By five minutes. It's not like I spent the night somewhere and only just got home." I stated as I took a quick glance at my watch which rested on my left wrist. "Well we set a curfew for a reason and I though Kevin understood that." She explained as she took a step closer to me. I was debating whether or not to be honest and tell her I was with Archie. She wasn't aware that we're dating and were on a break, she just though we where both so busy that we hadn't hung out recently. I figured being honest would be the best option for both the present and future references. "I wasn't with Kevin, I was with Archie." I said as a smile formed on my lips and the temptation to bite my lip as butterflies flew throughout my stomach just thinking about him was extremely high. "Archie, haven't seen a lot of him recently. If anyone knows about our curfew it should be him." Mum explained as a surprised look spread across her face before being replaced to that stern glare. "He does know mum, we've both just being so busy recently that we hadn't seen a lot of each other. We got carried away and lost track of time while catching up. Now if you don't mind, I'm very tired so I'm going to bed. Night mum." I said as I slid past her on the stairs not looking back just continuing to proceed up the stairs.
After taking a quick shower and slipping into pyjamas which consisted of a pair of sleeping shorts and one of Archie's many old sweatshirts that he had left at my house or I had stolen over time. It smelt like him and it made me feel so safe. Almost invincible. I slowly started picking up clothes from the floor before hearing the sound of my phone going off. After quickly placing the clothes in the wash basket in my bathroom I quickly walked over to my bed where my phone rested to see Archie's name illuminated on the screen with a picture of the two of us at pops pulling stupid faces. A small laugh escapes my lips before I swipe the screen and place the phone to my hear to hear Archies voice.
"Is that my sweatshirt I see you wearing?"
"Are you spying on me?" I question as I walk over to my window, only to see Archie standing at his window with a smirk plastered on his face.
"Well I wouldn't say spying, more like observing and making sure you're okay. Plus if you didn't want me looking in your window you should keep your curtains closed."
"Yeah but then I wouldn't be able to look into your window, So i'll leave them open."
"Look who's spying now."
"Well someones got to keep you in line and make sure you're alive. Might as well be me."
"Excuses. Excuses."
"I'm offended."
"I'll work on my apology tonight." Archie stated with a laugh as his smile grew wider.
"I'm expecting a big show." I said with a giggle as I sat myself on the window ledge.
"Roses and all?" Archie questioned with a raised eyebrow in a comical tone which echoed throughout the phone.
