7- Apologies And Symphonys

Betty's POV
I couldn't stop smiling for the past 2 hours since I've being home, it was like I was on cloud nine and everything was just so amazing.
I was sitting down doing work when I heard the doorbell ring, that must be Reggie, I thought to myself. I walked down the stairs at an average pace and opened the door to see Reggie, all I could notice was large bruise forming around the side of his cheek.
"Oh my god Reggie, your face!" I stated in shock.
"What, oh don't worry about it, I've had a lot worse trust me." He stifled with a laugh
"Anyway I just wanted to come and say sorry in person. I knew that you liked Archie and I knew how crazy he was about you. I shouldn't of overstepped my boundaries."
"Oh don't worry about its fine, me and Arch are all good now, we actually- wait what did you say? You knew that Archie liked me?" I said in shock
"Yeah, he confided in me about a month ago at football, well actually I approached him with questions about Veronica, cause I'm like so in love with her and he kind of just kept saying 'well I'd do this Betty' or 'I think Betty would like that' and I kind of just caught on with what he meant."
I couldn't believe it, that all makes so much sense as to why Archie got so close in the past month, not that I'm complaining.
"Woah, that's sweet. Wait you like Veronica? You should totally ask her out Reggie! Worst she could say is no." I said with a huge smile
"Really? You think she'd date me?"
"Well you ever know if you don't try! Buts it Veronica lodge so we are talking going above and beyond for her so make it special!"
"Alright, yeah I think I will! Well see you Betty and thanks for letting me apologise in person. Tell Archie I said hi!" He said as he slowly walked down the pathway towards the street.
"See you Reggie! Remember above and beyond for V!" I said with a smile.
I closed the door behind him and smiled to myself! This was great now Reggie wouldn't come between me and Arch which means everything should be okay.

Hours of the day passed and I had completed several bits of homework whilst finalising a column for the blue and gold. I looked over at my phone to see it was almost 6 o'clock in the evening and I hadn't seen or spoken to Arch since this morning. I decided to get up and get changed and head over to his place. I made it to his front door and opened it to hear nothing.
"Arch? You home?" I called out through the house, no response. There were only two places he could be, either out running through town or in the garage playing some music. Well I wasn't going to go round town chasing him so I took my chances with the garage.
As I made my way to the garage I could hear the strings of his guitar slowly being plucked, God he was so talented. I opened the door quietly hoping it to distract him. I couldn't help but smile at the lyrics he was singing. I've heard every one of Archie's songs so I couldn't help but notice that this was new.

Archie's POV
It'd being quiet a long day but an amazing one without a doubt. After Betty left I did some cleaning around the house and smashed out some homework and reviewed some game plays that coach had requested for us all to watch. Slowly the sun began to set and the sky was a beautiful combination of pinks, blues, purples and reds, I don't know how but it reminded me of Betty. Betty, I hadn't being able to get her off my mind all day, her smile, her laugh, her touch, her body, oh and her lips! She was so beautiful, I just hope she's okay. I didn't want to stand here thinking about the worst so i decided to head to garage and possibly get some new content down.
I'd spent the past hour coming up with chord progressions and melodies to put into my new song and after that was settled it was time for the lyrics. I don't know what was different about today but they just came pouring out.
After about an hour I had gotten down a verse, pre chorus and chorus which I was really proud of. I was just doing a run through of the song when I felt two eyes on my back. I could tell it was Betty, whenever her presence was around, my heart couldn't help but beat 50 times faster.
"You know you don't have to stand there forever." I said without turning around
"I know that, but you kind of smell so I wanna keep my distance." I said jokingly with a stern voice.
"Your very funny!" I said as I turned around looked in her eyes, God those eyes.
"That was so beautiful Arch! Is it new?" Betty asked as she started walking towards me
"Yeah I just whipped it up today. A lot has being happening, so I guess you could say I've being inspired." I said with a cheeky smile. Betty couldn't help but bite her lip as she looked at me.
"Well you an audience if you want to play it to someone. I'm all ears." Betty said as placed her hands on my knees.
"Yeah definitely, that'd be great! Now it's not done but tell me what you think." I said as I got up and placed Betty on the stool across from mine. Her smile was radiant and I couldn't help but lose myself every time I looked in those eyes.
I picked up the guitar and a got the pick and started strumming the melody whilst looking into Betty's eyes with a smile.

I strummed the last chord and let it ring. Slowly I looked up to see Betty's face and I could see a tear falling down her cheek. I pulled my guitar off my shoulder and walked over to her, copping her face in my hands whilst whipping the tears with my thumb.
"What is it? What's wrong? Didn't you like it?" I asked with so much concern, whilst stroking her cheek. Betty gave a light giggle whilst rubbing my forearms very slowly and comfortingly
"No I'm fine Arch, it was so beautiful. Honestly. I'm just so happy." Betty said as she leaned in to kiss me, I didn't retaliate. I slowly deepened the kiss as I snaked my arms around Betty's waist pulling her closer to me.
Betty pulled away and turned her head making my lips come in contact with her neck.
"Okay slow down speed racer!" Betty stated as she got off the stool and headed towards the exit.
"I'm getting hungry!" She exclaimed with a light giggle.
"Your blowing me off for food, you've done that twice today?" I said all puzzled and confused
"I would choose food over you any day Arch, Anyday!" She said as she exited the garage with a sly giggle. I couldn't help but laugh myself. If Betty wants to play I can play. I quickly jumped off the stool and exited out of the garage chasing after Betty. This is gonna be a fun night.
