Betty's POV
"Come on Betty! Please I need all the help I can get prior to football starting!"
Archie yelled across the street from his window, he'd being begging me to help him prep ever since school had started again.
"No Archie! The last time I helped you with football do you remember what happened?"
"I ended up with a fractured wrist, thanks to your monstrous throws! Besides can't you get jughead or reggie to help you with your practice?"

Archie's POV
"Besides can't you get jughead or reggie to help you with your practice?"
I lightly laughed to myself when Betty said that, the truth is Reggie had actually called me up asking if I wanted to practice today, but I turned him down saying I was preoccupied with homework.
When in reality I was just asking Betty as a way to spend time with her.
Recently all these feelings have being emerging in my body whenever I'm around her, I get all nervous and sweaty, which is odd cause I've known Betty since we where four and we're best friends so why was I suddenly getting nervous. I'd realised that all these feelings I had towards Betty that I told myself was wrong and pushed to the back of my head where surfacing and I didn't hate it. I always denied the idea of ever pursuing a romantic relationship with Betty due to the possibility of hurting her but I've changed and I can't help but want to be around her.
I hadn't realised that I was spaced out and smiling to myself until Betty screamed out my name.
Betty's POV
"ARCH!, you there? Hello?"
"Sorry what? Did you say something?" Archie asked in utter confusion and amusement.
"No I didn't, but you just zoned out and started smiling to yourself like a sociopath."
Archie has being acting strange around me recently, he'd being a lot more quieter than his usual self though he was around a lot more, whether that he helping my dad with fixing cars or doing simple house chores for my mum. I feel like I've seen more or Archie in the past month than I had in the last 12 years and that's a lot. Not that I'm complaining, my feelings for Archie are still same as they have being since forever, there's just something about that boy that makes me melt. But I couldn't help but wonder why Archie had being around so much.
"Okay fine. But only if you promise to take me to Pops later and treat me to a milkshake with fries!" I asked while slightly bitting my lower lip.
"Deal." Archie said why'll delivering me that dreamy smile.

Archie's POV
"Deal." I yelled to Betty as she closed her window and rolled her eyes at me with a playful smile. God she is so beautiful, there's no one else quiet like her on this planet and I feel so fortunate that I get to be so close with Betty Cooper.
I pulled on a simple riverdale high sweatshirt prior to changing into my shorts and slipping on some Nike sneakers. I grabbed the football from my gym bag and headed downstairs and over to Betty's house. I only got up the steps onto the path when the door opened and revealed Betty in all her beauty. She didn't even need to try to look beautiful to actually look beautiful. She was wearing a simple pair of black sport leggings paired with a casual grey sweatshirt which looked like one of my old sweatshirts.
"Hey is that my sweatshirt" I asked with amusement in my voice and smiling down at Betty.
"No what are you talking about Arch it's mine." She started to protest while having most flushed cheeks and dorkiest grins I'd ever seen.
"Don't worry betts, I'm not going to take it off you. Keep it. It looks better on you anyway that's the one I had prior to the summer." I stated with a cheeky grin. Anytime the idea or thought that Betty looked good increased my heartbeat.
"Well good cause you weren't going to get it back anyways." Betty said while poking her tongue out at me.
I did a slight chuckle to myself prior to speaking. "Well come on we better get to the park before it gets to dark."
