Archie's POV
I quickly ran across the street after leaving Betty's and entered my house through the front door. Completely forgetting the fact that my dad would be awake at this hour.
"Where you being champ." He said from the dinning room as he sat down reading the paper and drinking a cup of coffee. I stopped in my tracks and turned to make my way towards the dinning room. I lightly laughed to myself as I entered the room.
"I just went out for a morning run, need to clear my head." I stated as i rested my arms on the back on one of the dining chairs. His eyes didn't move from the paper, though i could see his smile growing bigger.
"So nothing to do with a certain blondes Birthday and sneaking in her room through her window?" He said as he laughed lightly to himself as he looked up at me resting the paper down. I could feel my smile slowly growing wider and my cheeks started to flush. I couldn't get a word out.
"It's okay buddy, you've being sneaking out for years plus it's a big day for Betty. Got anything special planned for her. God knows you owe her in birthday gifts."
"Hey come on. I've given Betty good presents over the years. Like those deluxe movie tickets." I said in defence, with a smile. My dad just looked at me with a titled head.
"Come on son. Betty has trumped your presents every year like that time she got you a limited edition signed Album by Van Halen." He was right, in so many ways. I had to make this birthday has special as it could possibly be.
"Well what can i do, it's not like I have a lot of money at the moment."
"Son, it's Betty. She loves you more than anything and she'll love anything you give her. But make it special. You love her and your an artist, write her a song. It comes from the heart and it shows that you really care more about showing her how much you care with words than money."
"That's a brilliant idea dad, thanks." I said as I rushed out of the house and into the garage, picking up my guitar and grabbing a notebook to get started on a new song.

Two hours had passed since I entered the garage and I had just gotten down the last verse of the song for Betty. I slowly looked up to the clock on the wall to read that it was 10:45.
"Oh shit!" I exclaimed to myself as I quickly packed everything up and grabbed my guitar case and ran out of garage and into the house.
After storming into my room and placing the guitar down, I ran back out and towards the bathroom. I quickly threw my shorts and boxers off along with my shoes and socks and jumped into the hot steamy shower. I was never one for quick showers but within the space of 4 minutes I was all washed and out of the shower.
After grabbing a towel from the hanger and wrapping it around my waist, I quickly left the bathroom and walked at a face pace to my bedroom. I shut the door behind me and started running a hand through my hair before shaking my head like a dog to get almost all the water out then dragging my fingers through my hair once more to get it out of my eyes.
I walked over to my closet and spent five minutes staring at my very slim collection of clothing items, which mainly consisted of raglan tops and simple coloured T-shirts. I needed to look nice for Betty, even though this afternoon is just casual all I could think about was making Betty happy.
I reached into my closest and pulled out a white, red and blue plaid flannel shirt with a simple white v-neck as undershirt paired with some slim blue faded jeans and a pair of dark brown lace up boots. I chucked the clothes on my bed and was just about to get changed when I saw a flicker of blond in my peripheral vision. I looked up slowly to see the one and only Betty Cooper staring back at me. I chuckled to myself before picking up my phone and clicking her number in contacts.

"Hi there." I heard Betty say with a sly tone and a smirk as I looked at her through the window.
"You know if you take a picture it'll last longer." I said with cheeky grin and a deep voice that I knew drove Betty crazy.
"You know you love it." I heard her chuckle through the phone. I chuckled in response as I watched her watch me.
"You almost ready?"
"Yeah all dressed and everything but by the looks of things your not. Looks like we won't be going anywhere for a while"
"Hey. Come on, I just need to get dressed and then I'll be outside and at your door in 5 minutes."
"We'll hurry up mister, my birthday won't last forever."
"Yes, your majesty."
