Betty's POV
The rest of the dance went by in a flash. It was full of dancing and laughing and just everyone having a good time in general. But all I could think about was the song that Archie had sung, it was so beautiful and heartwarming. I knew it was about me, with every word he sung flashbacks and memories came rushing to my head. Ever since our dance we were both avoiding talking about the situation for the sake of enjoying the night and not ruining it for each other or anyone else but I needed to speak to him tonight at Ethel's at some point, we need to understand the situation and what is going to happen.
"Hey Betty, we're going now." Veronica stated as she stood by the door with Kevin, Reggie and Jughead, I quickly threw my jacket on and threw my bag over my shoulder quickly approaching them. "Where's Archie?" I questioned as I reached them before we all began walking down the steps of the school. "He left around 30 minutes ago, said he had to do something and that he'd just meet us at Ethel's." Jughead explained as we all reached the car park before going our seperate ways looking for our cars. Worry washed over my body the more I thought about what Archie had to do. Should I call him, maybe just to see if he's alright, I thought to myself. "Don't call him Betty." Kevin stated as we reached his truck before we both jumped in the front seat. I looked at him in confusion and shock as it was like he read my mind. "I know you too well and plus your head over heels for that boy it's normal that you'd want to call him. He said he'd meet us at Ethel's but if he doesn't show up after an hour than call him." Kevin explained as he turned on the engine. "Yeah I guess your right." I said as buckled my seat belt. "Alright, now lets go get our party on." Kevin happily yelled causing us both to erupt into laughter.
As we arrived at Ethel's, the entire front lawn had disappeared. It was completely covered in cars and teenagers just lying down drinking and making out, what you get at any high school party. The excitement that ran through my body was indescribable. After the weeks I've had, I really needed to let loose. The next minute I knew I was jumping up from my seat by a loud banging coming from my window. I quickly looked over to see Veronica banging her fist on the window while laughing her ass off. I quickly looked at Kevin who look like he had just seen a ghost. Lightly I pressed my hand to my chest before grabbing my bag and opening the door as a huge smile grew on my face as laughter escaped my lips. "Okay V, you scared me but I think you gave Kevin a heart attack." I stated as we both began laughing while I wrapped her in a hug. "Yes! Not funny Veronica. Are you trying to kill me?" Kevin exclaimed as he shut the door of his truck before walking around the bonnet and coming towards us. "Alright I think Kevin needs a drink, now let's get inside." I stated as I linked arms with both Kevin and Veronica while heading towards the house.
As we walked through the sliding door into Ethel's indoor pool, the music suddenly erupted and the entire room was full of people dancing around though no one was in the pool yet. "This is going to be amazing." Veronica explained in excitement right before Ethel came running over to us. "Ethel! Hey!" We all exclaimed as we each hugged Ethel individually. "Hey guys." She stated as she stepped back from us. "I did not think this pool room could fit this many people in it." Veronica stated as she scanned the entire room, before returning her gaze back to Ethel. "Yeah it's bigger than I thought. Anyway you guys need to go get changed. Just go through that door and the second door on your right is a spare bedroom, you can leave your stuff in there." She explained as she pointed us in the right direction. We all smiled before quickly heading down the hall towards the room. We quickly opened the door only for someone else to already be in there and that someone was Archie. "Woah! Hey!" Archie exclaimed as he quickly lifted up and tied his swimming shorts. "You guys could knock you know." Archie stated as he began taking his shirt off, revealing the toned muscles body that lay underneath. It'd being a long time since I'd seen that body. For weeks both Archie and I had kept the windows and blinds that faced each other shut, reducing the chance of us seeing each other. My eyes wandered over his body admiring each individual ab and the deepening in detail of his V-Line causing me to subconsciously bite my lip. Lust swarmed throughout my body and I could feel my hands balling into fist, bunching up the top of the bag which held my swimwear in it. "Oh come on Andrews it's nothing we all haven't seen before. Now where did you disappear to. You were with us for most of the night than at the end you just disappeared." Veronica stated in a demanding voice while chucking her bag on the bed with me and Kevin following in behind. "I had to go home and get swimming shorts plus I had some stuff to think about and I figured I'd just come straight to Ethel's instead of going back and help her setup." He stated as he began walking towards the exit while flicking his gaze between the three of us. "Right, well your not going anywhere tonight, we are all hanging out whether you want to or not." Veronica demanded as she walked towards Archie while pressing her finger against his chest. "Alright, Alright Ronnie. I guess I'll leave you all too it." He stared with a smirk as he locked eyes with me before turning on his feet and leaving.
