I wake up one sunny and warm day. I groan and pull my pillow over my head, not wanting to get up. I could hear someone coming to my bedroom, probably my dad signless or my brother kankri. kankri walks over to the side of my bed, shaking me gently
"karkat, it is time to get up"
"why? im fucking tired, and earth sun hurts my eyes" i grumble
"Language brother, and its a lovely day you should go and enjoy it"
i groan " fiiiine"
I slowly get up, my hair a mess and my pj top hanging off my shoulder. I rubs my eyes and yawn, looking at Kankri. He smiles
" good, father is making breakfast. Ill see you downstairs " kankri leaves, shutting the door behind him
"JUST CALL HIM DAD!" i shout, im still not quite used to calling kankri or signless my brother or dad. But Egbert said it would help adjust me and my friends to life on earth
"Y SHOULD I KARKAT"
"BECAUSE ITS EASIER"
Dad shouts from the kitchen
"STOP SHOUTING OR NO BREAKFAST!"
i shut up and start getting changed into my normal clothes. kankri runs downstairs and sits down at the table, i soon join them. signless gives us pancakes, kankri smiles widely, I shrug
"thanks dad"
"Thank u father"
"Ur welcome my boys"
"are we doing anything today?" i ask
"I thought you two could maybe go and see your friends"
I roll my eyes " i dont wanna see kankri flirt with cronus"
"I do not flirt!"
"intentionally"
" hush brother"
"not for you"
kankri folds his arms and i smirk
" off in a huff?" i say as i finish my pancakes
"No! " he hides in his sweater
"sure, and im a fairy princess" I rolls my eyes
kankri huffs and dad chuckles. i get my shoes on and grab my phone, halfway out the door i shout
"im going for a walk"
"stay safe!" dad calls
" i will" i say back, leaving the house and walking along the forest path near my house as the humans call it.
as i walk i hear footsteps coming closer to me. i look up and see that eridan was walking the opposite way, kicking leaves and looking around. he hums a tune i dont know, not looking where hes going. i sigh
"hey nookwif!"
he jumps and looks at me
" o..oh, hey kar"
"what are you doing?"
"nothin" he says plainly, i raise an eyebrow in suspicion
"wwhat about you? wwhat are you doing here?"
"just walking, clearing my head. things change after a game like the one we played"
"heh, yeah they do"
"...... are you feeling ok? you didnt exactly react when i called you nookwif"
"y..yeah im ok"
i look at him suspiciously, he just looks away. i realise something
