Cuddles and films

karkats pov-

It was a Friday night after school and I was setting up everything in my room for when eridan comes over. We decided that every Friday night was now movie night and this was the first one for us. I had made a blanket tent, covered the floor in pillows and had snacks at the back. The tv was at the entrance but gave enough room for us to get in. I had also put fairy lights along the edges of the tent. I lay out a selection of films as just as I do the doorbell rings. 

After rushing down the stairs and opening the door I look at eridan. He had a night over bag slung over his shoulder, he was wearing a big black jumper and a pair of loose denim blue jeans with purple trainers. I smile more 

"Hey! Come on in" I stand aside and he walks in

"Hey, thanks for letting me come over"

"Any time. Got everything you need?"

"Ff course I do, my dad and brother made sure of that" he chuckles a little and I smile

After explaining that kankri and my dad promised not to bother us we headed up to my room. As I open the door I see that his eyes widen 

"Wow! You did all this?! It's amazing!"

"Only the best for you" I smirk as he blushes

We both agreed that watching the films in our pj's would be more comfortable so I go to the bathroom to change in order for it not to be weird. I had a crab pattern on black trousers and a long sleeved shirt with red stripes. I headed back to my room, knocking on the door to make sure eri was dressed too

"Ok done" I hear him say

I walk back into my room and look at him, a chuckle falling from my mouth. He had on harry potter themed pj's, his hair had gotten a bit more fluffy from putting them on. 

"You're so cute" I smile as he blushes a deep purple 

"Thanks, you look adorable as well" as he says that I feel my cheeks warm up a little

We sit down in the tent and I let him have first pick of the films. He takes a while to decide but soon chooses lady and the tramp

"Good choice"

"Really? I was worried you'd say no"

"Why would I say no? I love this film and its really heart warming" I smile and put it in my tv and press play

As the movie begins I notice eridan shifts closer to me. I smile and move into his lap, my cheeks burning with blush as he wraps his arms around me and rests his head on mine. For a cold blooded sea-dweller he was very warm, a quiet purr coming from my throat because of all the affection I was feeling. 


Eridans pov-

This was the best feeling in the world and I couldn't even describe it. He was so tiny, warm and cuddly. As I hear him purring I pull him closer towards me, my own purr coming from me as my heart speeds up. It was like I was complete with him in my arms, I never want to let go of him and I never want to hurt him. His fluffy soft hair, smooth warm skin, the adorable freckles that go across his face and those beautiful ruby eyes that shine like the stars no matter what. I now know this feeling that I wasn't able to describe before, this is true love. This is realizing that the thing u needed all these years was right in-front of you, there all this time and you didn't even notice. Just as I'm lost in my thoughts I feel him shift. I look down at him and notice hes reaching for some chocolate covered strawberries. My fins flap in excitement 

"I love strawberries!"

"Really? I wasn't sure but I got them anyway. I absolutely love strawberries covered in chocolate. Kinda cliche romantic food though isn't it " he chuckles and I smile. 

I pick one up and move it towards him, he smiles and takes a bite of it, then does the same to me. I giggle a little as he misses my mouth on the first try, but he gets it the second time. We continue to do this until they run out, the film half way done already. I kiss his cheek and smile at him 

"How about you choose the next one? It can be anything for all I care, just as long as I get to hold you" I smile as his face goes red, that adorable purr getting louder 

"O..ok sure" he smiles wide and I go back to cuddling him


Karkats pov-

After Lady and the Tramp finishes I move and select one of my favourite films, Sleeping Beauty. I hear eridan chuckle a bit and I look at him 

"What?"

"Nothing, just didn't take you for the Disney princess type" he smiles and I roll my eyes, climbing back into his lap and wrapping his arms around me smiling

"Yeah well, I like the classics"

"I like them too, Ariel was my favourite for a while"

"For a while? What changed?" 

"Oh Moana came out and it had everything I loved, magic, singing, ocean, strong female lead, snarky male character. You get the idea" 

I smile and nuzzel his chest "Yeah, I like that film too"

As I nuzzel him I can feel his purr, laughing a little I nuzzel him more, loving the warmth he was giving me. I don't know why I felt so comfortable in his arms, was it because he was holding me so close? Was it because he was so comfy and warm? I'm to busy thinking about this I hardly register any of the movie so far. As I'm thinking about this I feel eridan start to nuzzel me back and relax. I hadn't noticed that he was a bit tense, he must have been nervous and I could understand why. We never really got to do anything like this during the game and I guess this was a first for the both of us. As I'm thinking about the game I notice it didn't really scare me because I was with eridan. That's it! That's why I felt so happy with him. He gave me the sense of security and protection I didn't notice I was needing or missing. I smile up at him, his eyes that were previously on the screen now come down to lock with mine. His gorgeous amethyst colour eyes twinkling because of the fairy lights. I blush softly as I move closer to him, he smiles a little and copies. Our mouths lock in a soft and loving kiss, my arms slowly wrap around his neck and pull him closer to me. I feel his hands move from my back to my waist and I blush a little deeper. I felt like I could stay like this forever, and I'd be happy to.

Eridans pov-

After the long hours of watching film after film, we were starting to get tired. So karkat turned of the tv and cleaned up with my help. After his room was sorted back to the way it was we climb onto his bed and lay there. I was about to pull him close to me but he beat me to it, pulling me close to him and holding me. I smile and nuzzel him, purring softly and wrapping the covers around us. Karkat was the first to fall asleep and i smile, moving some hair out of his eyes. As he holds me close I know that this is where I'm supposed to be, with him.
