Chapter 3: Nicholas

I boarded my horse and ran away from that place out of frustration. What did she mean by that? How can someone like her -- a five year old who still knows nothing about the outside world -- leave our world like that or rather, kingdom? For goodness sake, she was just young when she went missing!

My horse and I just continued our journey in finding my sister. When the sky grew dark, we stopped by a small town and stayed at an inn. I thought that I should stay here for a couple of days and probably, ask some people if they spotted my sister come here.

It seems like I forgot to even think about this: my sister also took her own white horse with a shiny gold mane. I didn't pay any attention to it when I checked the stables years ago but now that it has came up, I kept analyzing it. She used that horse -- which was guarded by some palace guards -- and made an escape without even catching attention. It's pretty sneaky and she could've devised it earlier without us noticing anything out of place with her actions.

Still, even if she looks pretty clever with what I've said, she wouldn't dare stepping out of the castle walls. Micha would never, ever do that.

Years ago, about when she was just four and I was six, we rode our very own horses. Hers was white with a golden mane, just like I've said and mine was grey with black mane. We were told to run around our kingdom but Micha's horse never dared to step outside the castle walls. When she was asked of her reason for such action, she would say,

"I am to stay in this castle until I reach the age when I'm supposed to leave it."

Of course, our trainer had no clue of what she said since he didn't even know her secret. To him, it was pure nonsense and the princess was just stubborn since she didn't want to be with the 'poor townspeople' since she was a royal.

The next thing she did was a pure shock. It seemed like her horse understood what the trainer had said and proceeded to kick him far back. That was the first time I've seen a four year old, not to mention, my own sister, have a smug look in their face. She felt satisfied with what the horse did.

"Stand up!" She would command.

And then, the horse would begin charging but before it could move, my sister's commanding and firm voice would call upon her name, "Aureus Califormeus!"

It is too depressing to even think about all these epic and savage moments of the lost princess. The memories continue to live on, I guess.

I was too occupied in remembering that event fourteen years ago and failed to get a decent sleep. Great, I think I'm going to have dark circles under my eyes, just like mother since she was awake for days.

I got up and prepped myself up before going out to talk to some people regarding my sister's loss. I first went to a place where people gather the most, the market. The sound of merchants yelling to customers filled my ears as soon as I entered the place. It was pretty crowded and it was hard to move around. I began my quest to talk to some people.

"Ah, Princess Micha? I haven't heard any name like that but I do know of a lost princess."

"The princess has never been here."

"Never seen her."

"Eh, try asking someone else 'cause I'm busy right now."

As always, empty-handed. None of them have heard nor seen anything weird and out of place. I was about to leave when someone called for my attention. I thought that they were just attracting buyers and so I ignored the first call.

"Hey you! I got somethin'! Wanna hear it?" The voice called.

It had caught my attention. "Yes, what is it?"

"I've seen what'cha looking for...I think?"

I frowned.

"Betcha won't believe it! I saw this white horse with a gold mane rampage through the streets of this town!"

This piqued my interest. The description of the horse alone was enough for me to ask more questions.

"When was this?"

"Around daytime of the day before your sister went missing! Strange, isn't it?"

Daytime before the day she went missing? But the servants would say otherwise since they still saw her that day. I can't attest to that since I was in bed for a week and not permitted to leave my room.

"How about the rider? What prominent features can you remember?"

"Long black hair with red streaks." The man answered. It wasn't enough for me to confirm anything.

"That's it?"

He nodded. "Oh and someone, a messenger I think, told me to give you this thing."

It was a scroll; someone had sent me a letter. I opened it after speaking with that man outside of the marketplace.

Nicholas, I think I've acquired an information although, I don't know what my sister spoke. This is Myla, your cousin from the other kingdom. My sister, Platinein, actually took interest to this mysterious disappearance of your sister. As you have yet to know, Platinein is the sole Ancestral Mythical of my family after my mother gave birth to her.

Anyway, here's the thing. We're still trying to figure out what she said a few days ago. Apparently, her powers as an Ancestral Mythical have been in works and it only appeared that day, not to mention, she's still too young to be experiencing such kind of immense power.

She spoke of your sister, Micha. What we can infer from her words is that the Ancestral Mythicals are also doing their best to find her. However, that is not the case for she said -- in English -- that your sister is safe and there's nothing to worry about.

I can only think of one thing: Micha is actually hidden from our sights somewhere and the Ancestral Mythicals are looking after her.

I do not know what this can do but please make use of it.

The Ancestral Mythicals are looking after her? Whatever Platinein spoke of, it must be cracked immediately! She's the only Ancestral Mythical I know that is in the works and with what Myla had said, she must be also guarding her somehow! I have to know more about this, from Platinein herself!
