I heard someone drop their tray and made way over us. My mouth still hung agape, staring at the bottle of iced tea now. It was just water before, how did she do it?!

"Sugoi!" I cheer, I'm beaming with happiness just by seeing that. I don't know why I'm not feeling weird or anything but whatever, I got some real deal of an iced tea in my eyes!

"How did you do that?!" I heard the person who went over our table. She stayed silent, satisfied with her actions.

Now, I haven't seen this student before, or was that just me? They had a waist-length dirty blonde hair and wears the school uniform.

Huh, people still wear that? Anyway, what struck me was the ears; they were pointed! Also, his eyes were squinted but big, and silvery! My hands instinctively went to my ears, checking if they were still normal, human ears.

Now I'm confused about one thing: this person wears the boy version of the school uniform yet, they're too girly.

"Please tell me!"

"Wait, who are you?" I asked, getting their attention. "I seem to have not seen you yet in this school."

He bowed at me, which I found weird. "Right! I am Jay Shadowind! I'm in the same level as you, Ms. Cray!"

Ms. Cray? How polite for someone who is just in the same level as me. I blinked twice, what did they say?

"Jay...Shadowind?" I gasped. "You're a boy?!"

My gaze went towards Fran, who was trying to suppress a laugh. Her eyes remained closed, listening to our conversation.

"Uh..." Jay blushed, scratching his head, "Yes...yes, I am a boy."

Alright, I have a hard time believing such things! How can he be a boy when you got the looks of a girl? What's more, his complexion can be compared to people who want to achieve that kind of skin colour!

"Looks are not everything, Mika. Just like this fool over here, who managed to grace you with his antics." I hear her say, which made me grumble under my breath.

"H-hey!" Jay protested, still having flushed cheeks, "I am no fool."

"Oh, don't worry, everyone's a fool...in her eyes." I commented, snickering under my hand. She shot me a damning look, making me stop my snickering. Geez, her eyes are too powerful, just that intense gaze will make you squirm in your seat.

"Anyway, I want to know how you did the trick of this bottle!" Jay declared, holding up Fran's bottle. Eagerness was present in his eyes and I'm almost sure, it faltered wen she declined his request.

"I never reveal my tricks."

"You sounded like a magician for a second there."

Jay frowned upon hearing what she said. Well, that was tragic, I mean that got to his feelings. He probably wanted to know the secret behind turning water into iced tea in just a wave of the hand. I don't blame Fran though, she must have a reason for keeping her mouth shut.

Now that I think about it, she did something that not even magicians can do. Don't ask me, I know all of their tricks. I haven't seen any foul play, so I can say, that was an authentic spell. Maybe she's a being that can do spells and magic?

"You have five minutes to clean up and head over to your next class."

My eyes wandered to my watch. I mentally cursed, I only had five minutes to scramble and leave for my next class in the other building. I didn't notice how time flied so fast, was I really into that whole water to iced tea issue? I dumped all the remains of food in my tray and left it where I'm supposed to leave it. I got my bag and ran as fast as I could to reach History class.

Oh crud, no History. That teacher will have me staying in detention for the maximum hour, which is two hours! I ran as fast as I could, hoping to reach class in time.

By the time I got in front of History class, I was panting and catching oxygen, I made it! I open the door and was greeted by the unwavering silence of the classroom. I let out a nervous chuckle and went to my seat in the far back but before I can sit, I heard the teacher speak to me.

"Drats, looks like you escaped detention this time, Ms. Cray."

The class laughed and we began the session.

---

"Did you know that you were, technically, late?" Fran asked me as soon as I got out of my last class. I didn't see her when I left History, maybe she had to do something?

"Technically late?"

"If it weren't for me, you would be spending your time in a classroom for two hours."

"Huh?" I was clueless as to what she was talking about. What did she do again?

"Fool, I stopped the foolish time for a bit."

"Huh, really?!" I look at her with amazement, what can she not do? I mean, she was Lady Luck, Lady Magic and now, Goddess of Time, what else is next? "Thanks for saving me there. Detention with that teacher is a no-no."

We walked to my locker, to find Jay there. Apparently, his locker wasn't far from mine.

"Jay!" I called out, running up to him.

"Oh, hello Ms. Cray!" He beamed.

"Mika is fine. Please drop the formality." I said, feeling embarrassed with formality.

"If you say so..." He blushed. Seriously, does he blush every time?

Fran caught up with me, leaning against the neighboring locker. "Jay Shadowind, detective and also a student. Has elven ancestry, hence the pointy ears."

I look at her with bewilderment. How can she say such information about him with just a look?

"Yes, I am a detective. Also, you're right about my ancestry."

She remained emotionless and brushed off what she said like it was nothing.

"You're an elf? Cool!" I exclaimed, opening my locker and stashing away my things.

"Y-yes...I'm an elf! I truly respect my elf blood!" He declared. "I shall see you tomorrow!"

With that, he walked away but he tripped not too far from us. Instead of him being gossiped about, the students around him laughed like there's no tomorrow. He stood up, embarrassment taking over yet he seemed fine with people laughing around him.

And now, I noticed they weren't laughing. It was a giggle, like they actually find cute that he tripped.

The people at this school is just weird.

When I went to close my locker, I found her typing on her phone. She seemed too focused on it, typing quickly. I got startled when she said, "Let's go to the parking lot now."

---

The red sports car from earlier was in front of us now. We boarded it, Fran on the passenger seat. When I went in, someone was there, staring out the window. She looked really charming and her gaze looked really sad, as if she was reminiscing about something. I saw that she had green eyes that complimented her brunette hair that reached just below her shoulders. Just like Fran, her hands were covered by black gloves. She wore a sleeveless black blouse, black skirt and black heeled boots that reached just, probably, three inches above her ankles. To me, she looked like a copy of Fran.

She turned to look at me, oh how her face looks smooth and blooming! She was, indeed, charming.

"Oh, that's right. You're meeting for the first time." I heard Fran say.

"Uh, hello, I'm Mika Cray." I introduced, offering up a hand. She took it and I felt her smooth hands beneath her gloves.

"Pleased to meet you. Do call me, Michiko."

It's going down for real oops-

It's not much but I promise, Jay shall appear more often! Oh and I got a hard time writing his parts, though I don't really know why gomen-
