Chapter 26: Mika/???

Even if I was requested to not join the forum, I heard everything. I hid behind the wall just before the staircase, the secrets starting to spill out. I listened intently, something about this forum put me in a feeling I can't quite describe. They were going to talk about me, that much I know. But the main subject of the forum is what I don't know.

I heard France speak now, something about what she did the other day. That getting into my head thing and seeing visions stuff. She was explaining everything she saw, but what struck me was,

""A-Anyway...she committed some sins."

Sins? Is she talking about the incident that happened at my previous school? But, that's in plural form, so it must mean that I have committed more than just one sin? The thing is, the only sin I committed was that, so, what was she talking about?

I paid a closer attention to their discussion, eager to get more information as to what had happened.

"She strangled two people who stole something from her. What happened next is much worse than that." I heard Fran say. Wait, she knows it too? But, at least, I've confirmed that they were talking about that incident. The thing is, what is this event that is much worse than the strangulation incident?

"But first of all, she was a 'splitting image' of the princess when she did those acts..."

The what? A splitting image of the princess they're looking for? But how can that be as I do not even look like her? Worse, I don't even resemble her in any way! This is just ridiculous, heck, maybe she's just coming up with these stories to further incriminate me or something!

But then I heard, "Bloodshed."

The princess was a killer, like me then? Hold up, why am I even comparing myself to her?

After those, I heard them telling France to rest and all, so I scrambled up to pretend I was doing something in my room. It would be too suspicious if I let them see that I was just wandering in the hallway.

When I got back in my room, I was left with more questions than answers. Something about their discussions didn't sound right to me or was it just because that I don't want to believe any of it? It's normal to not believe that of course, seeing that it's completely impossible. How can a kid, this princess, be me at the same time? Heck, we lived in different timelines! I couldn't possibly be the reincarnated princess, right? Not that I believe in that!

I heard as soon as I came out of my room. I wanted to grab something to eat but, it's seems like they have another discussion. The voice was from France, and I could sense the signs of regret in her words.

Then, I heard another voice. It was from Michiko, and she had her son accompanying her. She heard it as well? But, wait, I'm confused about myself. Why have I heard it as well? Sure, the distance from my room to hers were not quite far, but the door was not ajar. Meaning, the door wasn't fully opened, so the sound should have been muffled. So, why did I hear it clearly?

"No, you're not. It's basic human instinct to believe that one is weak when they couldn't surpass an obstacle."

That's true. She must've experienced weakness before, seeing that she'd lost two members of her family. All she had now was Nicholas. I could see how she's working hard to find Micha, but even though that was the case, there were signs of giving up. Not that I want to be blunt but, I'd seen it.
