Chapter 19: Mika

"Let me have a word with them, officers." Jay butted in.

I don't understand why they're here to arrest her. What did she do wrong?!

Jay made his way inside of my house, his face showing apology. Everyone, even the so-called accused was present, though she was hiding.

"I do not know what they are up to but I am sure, it is a wrong accusation."

"Explain yourself at once, Shadowind! What is she accused of?!" Michiko's voice blared as she demanded an answer from him.

"I ask for you sincerest apology, Lady Michiko! Someone, I presume a lunatic with the recent controversy, had told the police that she was doing some..."

"Some?" I asked since he trailed off.

"Mythical thing."

"That stuff again?!" I raged. "Why can't everyone just cut it out?!"

I was mad, Fran was getting arrested for some stuff that only stupid people believe! Sure, I could say that what she did the other day was that of a Mythical stuff but even a simple magician could make that!

If you ask me who deserves to be arrested and accused of such baseless reason, it's the magicians!

"I...I do apologise but we have to take her now."

A laugh was heard behind me, it sounded grim and dark. She was laughing, and her expression wasn't that of the normal one that I always see.

"Fine then, let them in and take me, personally." Fran challenged. She looked ready for this, as if there wasn't a single trace of fear in her eyes. I personally felt terrified since, I was going to witness something that is painful to me. 

My eyes went over to the siblings, each having their lips in a smirk kind of smile. Each definitely knew what she was up to but I was left in the dark. I wanted to know what they were planning though, I fear it to be something illegal. 

Soon, the officers that I were talking to earlier got in, handcuffs in hand. They made their way over to her and handcuffed her on the back. Fran made a small gesture that passed my eyes; it was a gesture to Michiko.

"Officers? May I have a word with you before you take her away?" Michiko successfully got their attention and I noticed her tone change. 

"Do you want to get arrested too, lady?" 

She flipped her hair, "I have no intention of getting arrested or whatnot, but, isn't that you need a warrant first, before we can fully give her to you?"

The two officers looked at each other but gave no answer to her. Immediately, her brother joined in whatever she was doing.

"A warrant is much needed to make an arrest since someone had authorized you to detain a person."

"Where is it, officers?! Hand it over, so we can hand you the item you need." 

I was only watching them, they seemed to be cool. I saw Fran gesture to me and I walked over to her.

"I want you to take the keys." She whispered to me. My eyes wandered to the dangling cuff keys on one of the officers' pants and I made up a plan to get it. The two were busy with dealing with the siblings and so, I swiped it off their pants. I proceeded to unlock the handcuffs.

"By the way, didn't you address her as 'State Prosecutor'"? Michiko inquired, putting a finger to her chin, "As I recalled, there aren't many of her kind existing here, right Brother?"

He seemed to agree with her since he nodded. 

"Also, weren't you all thankful that when they came here, peace and tranquility slowly prevailed in here? Even though I just arrived here a couple of days ago, I know all about this place." Michiko said in a rather, sinister tone, emphasizing each word and syllable.
