We walked, Roger was quiet, but Dwayne started talking about the Rugby match. I wasn't sure if he was changing the subject to avoid me asking about him being there to save me, or he was hoping a change of subject would keep my mind off of what had happened.

'I hear you're going to be our physio for a bit'

'Assistant Physio, don't expect miracles from me'

'It would just be cool having another female along, but I warn you on the bus drive we can be kinda rowdy'

Bus ride, I wasn't aware it was an away match.

'How long's the drive?'

'Not entirely sure, but think it's around half hour. So how come you're heading home, the bus leaves in an hour'

Thanks for not telling me, Jack. I thought.

'Just have to change. The physio, what's his name?'

'Duncan, Duncan Rolles, he's about fifty, but probably fitter than half the team. His real job's a paramedic'

'Yeah.....he's got everything we need. Hasn't he?'

'What, you mean equipment and things. Oh yes. He seems to have everything, not that I know anything about all that shit', he paused, looked at me, 'sorry about the language'

'That's okay....We're here'. We had arrived outside my house.

'We'll wait outside. Walk you back to college'

'You don't have to'

'I know, but it wouldn't be responsible of us to walk you here and not walk you back, so we'll wait'

I looked at him, smiled and created the words "thank you" with my mouth. I wondered how such a charismatic person could be the thief I was after. It then dawned on me, why I was going to this rugby match, in all the excitement I had forgotten. The pendant. I looked down at his neck, but the chain was tucked under his t-shirt.

'I'll see you in a minute', I turned and ran into the house.
