'Come on, we better get pitch side, help me put the stuff away', Duncan said, rolling up some surplus bandage he had used.
We were alone in the changing rooms and I figured this would be my opportunity. 'You go on, I'll tidy it up'
He didn't wait for me to ask again, he retrieved a key from his pocket. 'Here, lock up when you're finished'
I took the key and I watched him leave with an additional, smaller bag. Alone in the changing room, I quickly threw into the bags everything that was left out, as neatly as I could, when hurrying I was a little unsure as to where everything came from, once satisfied I zipped it up and ran over to where bags and clothes were strewn over the benches.
Attempting to ascertain which bag or pile of clothes was Dwayne's was bordering on impossible, however I did recognize Jack's bag, it was the same one he carried with him as he had walked me home after his football match. I walked over to it, hoping he had been near Dwayne. I tried to recall which bag Dwayne had, but all I could recall was that it was dark. I decided to check the bag to Jack's left and the one to his right. The one to his left was arranged neatly and I was careful not to mess it around too much. In the bag were folded clothes and at the bottom were folders with different academic subjects written on them, but no chain. I checked the one to the right, this contained clothes, again quite neat, but not as neat as the other bag. A thought crossed my mind, that these boys were far more tidy than the girls from the hockey team, I looked around the rest of the changing room and saw the mess of clothes flung everywhere. At least, not all boys were that tidy, I thought smiling to myself. I was zipping back up the bag and as I did so I heard a clinking sound, I opened back up the bag and tapped the bags side, the clinking sound again. I noticed a zipped pocket inside the bag and undid it. Inside was a mobile phone, a wallet and a chain, full of pendants. I pulled it out abruptly, glanced around apprehensively, more conscious of the noise the pendants was making.
The chain was amazing, I guessed there were at least thirty pendants of faces and maybe ten more of symbols. However, there was no Nefertiti.
