'Jack, there's something I need to tell you....'
'Oh, there you are', a voice spoke from someone approaching us. I looked up to see Susan hovering over us in a short shimmering silver dress, that showed off her perfect legs, she wore small black high heeled boots that only increase the length and drew focus to them.
Jack rose to greet her and I followed suit. He opened his arms for a hug, she stepped into them and placed a gentle kiss on his lips, it lasted a little too long for my liking and I again had to remind myself that I wasn't there to win him over. Even so it felt like a kick in the teeth. As they parted I could see she had hold of his top lip between hers, which eventually sprang away.
She then turned to me. 'Catherine, it's fantastic you came', I looked for the cynicism in her face and saw none. She stepped towards me, wrapped me up in her arm and repeated the kiss she had given Jack on me. Again, I was shocked. I should have been ready for it, after the last time I had met her, but the most I had expected was a peck. The worse thing about it, was it felt almost comfortable.
'God, I was hoping you two would come, not sure I can put up with any more of Janet's friends coming on to me'.
'Don't lie. You love the attention', Jack said sitting back on the wall.
She smiled at him. 'You're right, I do'. She maneuvered herself to the wall, put her gentle hand on my wrist and sat next to Jack, pulling me down next to her. As she sat, her skirt road up her thighs and she had to use her other hand to pull it down to an almost respectable level.
'Okay, tell me what you two love birds have been up to', she asked directing the conversation to Jack, whilst moving her hand from my wrist to my hand and interlocking our fingers.
I looked down, even her finger nails were perfect, they looked as though the nails had never been bitten and they were vanished with care, cream colored and silver split at an angle. Was there any part of this girl that wasn't perfect. I had to wonder why Jack would ever leave a girl like this. Assuming he left her and not the other way around. But I couldn't help think that they seemed like the perfect couple.
'We aren't exactly going out with each other', he said sheepishly.
She smacked him on his upper arm, his deltoid stood firm. She turned to me, 'don't let him treat you like he did me. I thought I was going out with him for months until he explained he was seeing someone else, I was heart broken. He then explained to me that at no point had we decided to go out together, he even went on to explain that couples, went out for meals and to the cinema, friends hung out doing crazy things. Apparently, we were friends with benefits', she put her hand on my leg, 'don't let him use you'
He laughed. 'You didn't exactly complain about it, did you?'
She didn't turn to him, but responded, 'What? About being your sex slave'
'That doesn't matter anyway, because Catherine's a virgin and I don't intend on taking her virginity', I was stunned, how did he know I was a virgin. I looked past Susan, at him sternly.
