I arrive at Gemma's house thirty minutes later, on the journey there I had rang Susan three more times, each time it went to voice mail. I decided to send a text message apologizing for not being there after college. I read it before sending it and the text sounded creepy, as though I was a stalker, but I couldn't work out how else to word it, so I sent it anyway. "I've been trying 2 get hold of U 4 a while now 2 say I'm sorry 4 not turning up today, something came up" The sun had gone down when I arrived at Gemma's, however the sky still glowed. I switched my mobile phone to silent, I didn't want to be disturbed with Gemma tonight, I rang the door bell and waited a few moments.

'Hi, Mrs Fredericks', I greeted as Gemma's mum opened the door.

'Hello Catherine, come in', she said moving aside for me to step in, 'Gemma's in her room'.

'Thanks Mrs Fredericks'

'Did you want me to bring you up some cookies and juice', she asked as I headed to the stairs.

'No thanks Mrs Fredericks'

'Okay dear. If you change your mind, let me know. I've just squeezed some fresh lemon juice'.

I smiled and headed up to Gemma's room.

I knocked on the door and waited for a reply.

'Who is it?'

'Me.....Catherine', I had expected her to be shuffling some piece of furniture away from the door, but instead she yelled excitedly for me to come in. I wasn't sure how our relationship would ensue after I had flirted with her the previous night.

I stepped in, she was lying on her bed with a book in her hand. She smiled at me, she genuinely looked happy to see me. She swiveled, dropping her legs over the side of the bed.

'I was hoping you would come over tonight', she said, looking a little nervous.

I walked over and sat next to her on the bed, I shifted my right leg up onto the bed, so I was facing her.

'How's it been with your cousins?', I asked.

'Great', she said excitedly, 'they don't even want to come over anymore, 'cause every time they do, I get them doing things for me. They're like my slaves, it's so cool'.

I shared her enjoyment, then changed the subject.
