'Shall we go in and give that buoy Jack a piece of us', Carla said, ready for an argument.
'Yeah, let's get your bag'.
I imagined it, Carla in front throwing foul language at the boys and itching for a fight and Gemma discreetly hidden in the background, providing what she would later would refer to as "moral support"
'No let's wait for them to leave', I said.
The wait seemed longer than it probably was, during which time Carla and Gemma both rung home to explain they would be getting back late, Carla had been forced to justify it to her mum, over the phone. I heard her use an excuse that someone had locked the girl's changing rooms and they were waiting to get in, as she spun her yarn, she fondled the pendant hanging from the chain around her neck. Carla allowed me to use her mobile phone, so I could contact my mum. Mum had seemed distracted and didn't seem overly concerned that I wouldn't be there. In fact she had told me not to hurry, to take however long I needed, which seemed strange at the time, but due to my circumstances, I decided not to linger on the thought.
After the phone calls, Carla went into this long story about a girl who lived down the road from her, by the name of Petra, who had a gorgeous father, for his age and how one day, when visiting Petra, she was setting the table to have dinner with them, when Petra's father had returned from jogging. He had entered, all wet from the perspiration and he was wearing lycra shorts, when she saw him, she was so distracted by his bulge, she dropped the plates.
She found it hugely amusing and the way she told it, It had Gemma and me in stitches, laughing so hard I almost forgot about the predicament I was in.
When Carla had finished telling the story, we decided to go and check if anyone was left in the changing block. We opened the door to the block and entered. I froze, as did the two girls beside me, Aiden was standing against the wall. When he saw us enter, he pushed himself away from the wall and approached us.
