I stare at the wooden table in the middle of the cabin, an assortment of alcohol and drugs lying on top of it. Anything and everything you could imagine from marijuana to heroine, beer to vodka and everything in between.
“Where do we start?” I ask looking over the table, not wanting to meet eye contact with him.
“Liquor before beer, never fear. Beer before liquor, never sicker,” he chuckles picking up a bottle of beer. I shrug and pick up one next to it, pulling off the top and tipping my head back. I want to get as drunk as I can, as quick as I can.
“Slow down, Adi, we got all night,” he says sipping his beer. He may have all night to get drunk, I want to get this done and over with. I want to just drink everything on the table, all in one drink.
“How bad would it be to combine all of this into one drink?” I ask him. He brings the pipe to his lips, the lighter lighting the bowl as he inhales the smoke. He holds it in his mouth for a few seconds before letting it out with a slight cough.
“Probably get you drunk really fast,” he shrugs coughing again. He honestly makes illegal the hottest thing. If I weren’t already into illegal things, I would be because of him. That’s how hot it is.
“Let’s do it then,” I say walking into the kitchen. I grab two tall glasses that almost look like pitchers, and set them on the table. I pick up the Fireball Whiskey, one of my personal favorites and pour a bit in each glass, next for the Absolut Vodka, Bacardi, Smirnoff, Artic Vodka, Malibu Rum and Bong Spirit which is made in Holland and I have no idea how I ended up with it in my hand, pouring it into my mix of disaster.
“We’re gonna get so sick,” Zayn says smirking, picking up his glass and lifting it up, “Cheers to hangovers,” he smiles
“Cheers,” I mumble clinking my glass with his; we bring the cool glass to our lips and take a swig of the death sentence the 7 different alcohols burn my throat as I take the swig. I set the multi colored glass on the table and look over at Zayn who looks confused
“I don’t know if that was good or not, that burned like hell though,” he mumbles I nod agreeing.
I don’t think I should be sitting here, getting drunk with him. If I get drunk, I tell everyone everything, and that’s not something I want to do right now. I don’t want to tell him anything, I want to keep my mouth shut and drink in silence. Maybe I should’ve stuck to something lighter, wine perhaps. I want to go back to town go to my usual bar, then walk down the street and add another tattoo to my fully displayed collection.
“I’m sorry,” Zayn says snapping me out of my thoughts, I don’t reply, and I don’t make eye contact. I stare at the not well lit wood wall of the cabin. The wall just above the bed a painting hangs there and it looks like it’s a creek, a couple sitting by it his arm around her their backs are facing me and I feel as if I’m invading some sort of private moment although it’s only a painting.
I bring the glass to my lips once more, drinking down the liquid that I’m still not sure of. It burns again, but I don’t care. I feel so numb that none of it matters. I could get sliced alive and still not be able to scream or cry.
We stare into nothing for the next hour, just sitting in silence. The only sound is the sound of the wind howling outside the cabin. The occasional sound of tree limbs brushing up against the walls of the cabin. We occasionally take drinks from our cups, sometimes take a hit from our bong, and sometimes smoke a joint, but never at the same time. We never take a chance of doing it at the same time; we drink and smoke separately, as if we were two people, completely different people, and strangers even, sitting in a cabin alone together. You wouldn’t smoke or drink with that person at the same time, that activity is reserved for friends. While Zayn and I are friends, I think, we don’t do that. We aren’t good enough for that and I don’t think we ever will be.
“Can we like talk to each other or something?” Zayn asks trying to make eye contact with me. I feel his gaze burning into the side of my head while my eyes stay locked with the couple on the wall.
“Fuck this,” he mumbles angrily standing up from the wooden chair and slamming it into the table, the bottles shake, but don’t fall. I don’t even flinch when he slams the door to go outside. I just sit there, drinking from my cup, staring at the couple on the wall.
Zayn has been out for about an hour, and I don’t know what he’s doing, I haven’t moved much, I went around finding the bathroom, then came back and enjoyed my usual activity of staring at the couple hanging on the wall. I wish I were them, I wish I was in a relationship where we could sit along a creek, watching the sun go down or coming up, and watch the water flow. Watch as squirrels and deer come to drink from the creek, ignoring our presence. Maybe we’d talk a little bit, our hopes and dreams. Worries and fears and everything in between. Maybe we’d just sit in silence and drink some fruit punch or apple juice. Have a little picnic while we were just enjoying each other’s company, but that’s not something I can have. At least not with the person I want it to be with. Zayn would never want that, he isn’t one to want to sit by the river in silence. Obviously silence annoys him, I don’t look up from the wall as I hear the door open and close again, or when I hear his boots against the hard floor, I don’t move when he shouts my name.
“Adriana!” He shouts at me, but I don’t flinch
“Listen, I don’t care how fucking mad you are at me, we have to go there’s a bust at Jerrod’s!” this time, I move.
(A/N)
Hey guys! I hope you liked this chapter, I'm so so sorry that I havent' updated that much with this book, for one I had major writers block. Two, I was focusing more on PRincess Ella since that's almost done so I was trying to get that done. For three, this week was try out week so I literally had school, then left to practice then was there for 2-3 hours then when I finally got home I had to do homework and I was exhausted. So yeah, those are my excuses, take them or leave them:)
Umm yeah so there's about 10 more chapters I think. Idk maybe more maybe less. There will NOT be a sequel I know how I'm ending it and have it all planned out in my head so no sequel just a one and done type of thing.
Sorry for this long A/N I just had to tell you guys all of that, but I'm done now:) so yeah:) Love y'all!
