“Adriana?” she says standing up from the chair.

“What the hell are you doing here? How did you get out?” I ask

“I followed you,” she shrugs.

“You can’t just leave, how the hell did Mikey find you?” I ask confused. When we left, she left. She must’ve left right after Nadia checked their room. How did I not notice this?

“I’d been sneaking out for a while,” she shrugs, “One time Mikey was in an alley I usually walk through and we hung out,” she shrugs

“I’m assuming you two know each other,” Zayn says pointing between us and I nod.

“She was in the group home,” I answer sitting down across the table from her, “She’s clear, Zayn, trust me,” I say and he nods

“We still need to go over rules,” he says sitting down in the chair beside me.

“There aren’t many rules, but they’re strict you break them there’s consequences which depend on which rule you break,” Zayn says pausing and pulling out a piece of paper, “Rule one, business is business, pleasure is pleasure. Keep them separate. You do not have sexual relations with client unless that is your job of the day. And you do not date under any circumstances.”

“Rule two; you call me Malik at all times. Nobody, and I mean nobody calls me Zayn, got it?” She nods and I look over at him smirking.

“Yes, Malik,” she answers obediently. She doesn’t look scared, or nervous, she looks content.

“Rule three, what we do here is a secret, underground operation. We keep it as clean as possible which means, if you’re dealing, the drugs stay downstairs in the drug room, they stay there or in your purse or whatever when you’re on the streets,” she nods again, “Rule four, you always, always, always have your bandana on when you’re out,” Zayn finishes.

“Is that it?” Jessie asks and Zayn nods then looks to me.

“Anything you want to tell her?” Zayn asks and I shrug.

“Keep it clean, and if you ever need anything any of us will be willing to talk to you about whatever,” I say and think of anything else to say, “Oh and you address us by street names if we aren’t here,” I say and she nods. Zayn stands up and then reaches over grabbing my hand and I happily take it.

“What happened about the business, pleasure, thing?” Jessie smirks as Zayn pulls me closer.

“We don’t apply,” Zayn says with no emotion in his voice, I knew this side of Zayn would come out in this meeting, but to be honest, I sort of like it. I like the side of him that takes charge, but at the same time, it terrifies me.

“Why not?” Jessie asks, pushing it.

“We just don’t,” Zayn practically growls at her and she nods hesitantly.

“We’ll take you down and introduce you to the crew,” Zayn says taking my hand tighter this time and leading me out of the room, Jessie close behind. We walk through the warehouse and down the stairs to the lower level.

“Hey we got a newbie!” Zayn yells, we hear people shuffling and talking and then we end up with everyone in front of us, people I’ve never seen before too.

“Alright, this is Jessie, everybody introduce themselves and give your position,” Zayn says, “I’ll start I guess, Malik and the boss,” he says then motioning to me.

“Adriana, Sully in the streets, and I’m a dealer,” I say

“And you manage the gang below me,” Zayn adds in and I give him questioning look.
