The annoying beeping of my phone wakes me up, I groan rolling over, seeing its 9:00, still have an hour till I meet Reflex. I’ve never been nervous about meeting a new client, but for some reason this one makes me nervous. I’ve done this a hundred times, why am I nervous now?
I climb out of bed and throw on my everyday outfit, ripped skinny jeans, combat boots, a random shirt and a black sweatshirt. The Ringla’s colors are black and blue, so I wrap my blue bandana around my wrist, covering the tattoo that I keep hidden. It was the numbers ‘55412’ which is the Ringla’s code numbers. I grab my phone off my bed and walk out to the kitchen where Mikey and Drew seem to be involved in a deep conversation.
“Oh, morning, Sully,” Mikey says
“Morning, Mikey,” I smile hugging him. He hugs me back and then pulls away, handing me a cup of tea, knowing I hate coffee. I quietly thank him.
“So what are you up to?” I ask the boys and they shrug.
“Probably going to hang out until Jerrod lets us leave, what about you? You seem to be dressed up,” Drew says. I bring the hot cup of tea to my lips, letting the warm liquid slide down my throat.
“I have a deal to do, some guy called Reflex,” I shrug.
“Reflex?” Drew asks and I nod. His eyes widen a little bit and I give him a questioning look, “I’ve heard Reflex is a pretty rough guy, watch yourself out there,”
“Always do, Drew,” I smile and he nods, then turning his attention to someone who just walked in the room. I turn around to see Roxy standing in a crop top, booty shorts and heels.
“Morning, Mami,” Drew smiles walking over to her, giving her a hug. His hands resting on her ass, I make a gagging noise and Mikey laughs nodding.
“Morning, Roxy,” Mikey and I say at the same time. I smile and pull out my phone, checking the time.
“Alright, I better head out,” I stand up from the chair I was sitting in and head back to my room. I walk over to my closet, splitting open my clothes and moving a picture frame and then opening a door behind it. We all had these in our rooms; it was a place we were told to keep our drugs for safety purposes. I reach in, grabbing the K2 and Coke for Reflex and shoving them in my purse. Then slipping my beanie on and heading out.
“Bye, Sully!” Mikey calls as I leave. I make the longish walk to Lobito’s Mini Market. I’ve made plenty of deals there, so I know the way there pretty well. With all the cops around this part of town, I was told to take alleys and back ways which I don’t do very often. I walk down and alley, nobody down it, turning down random alleys only passing a few people who are wearing similar clothes to me, except for the blue bandana wrapped around my wrist. Some red, representing the Bloods, some yellow, representing the Latin Kings, other colors for smaller gangs that aren’t heard of as much
I finally reach the last alley, turning down it. It was a very badly lit alleyway. I pull out my phone, checking the time again, 9:55. He should be here soon. I sigh and lean up against the cool brick alley wall. I start tapping my phone, watching the little yellow bird, flying through the green pipes.
“Flappy Bird? Really?” A voice asks, I jump, my phone flying out of my hand as it falls to the ground.
“Shit, thanks, who are you anyway?” I ask picking up my phone and looking it over, only scratches, nothing is broken. I lift my eyes from my phone and see a dark figure walking closer to me. His face getting more visible as he comes closer, dark brown eyes, slight stubble along his jaw line. He’s actually pretty hot.
“Reflex, you must be Sully,” he smirks and I nod.
“50 pounds,” I say reaching in my bag and pulling out the two baggies that he ordered.
“Alright, love,” he smirks and pulls out his leather wallet. I sneak a glance at his wallet, he’s freaking loaded. He pulls out 60 pounds and hands it to me.
“I said 50,” I give him a questioning look and he shrugs
“Keep it,” he says and I nod shoving it in my pocket. I finally take notice of what he’s wearing, white tee shirt, leather jacket, and black jeans. His pitch black hair up in a quiff and the side slightly shaved. I can see through his white shirt, a tattoo that rests just below his collar bone. Hell, he’s gorgeous, but sadly he’s a client.
Rule One of La Ringla’s; don’t mix business and pleasure. Clients are clients, nothing else.
It’s a rule I’ve never broken, and I don’t plan to. Drew once broke it and screwed his buyer; Jerrod was not happy and made us do a beat in type of situation.
“Here’s the stuff,” I say handing him the baggies. He takes them, looking over them. He steps closer to me, his eyes dragging up and down my body, taking in every inch of me. I back up, my back pressed up against the cool wall once again. He smirks and places his hand against the wall beside my head. He steps closer to me, his body almost against mine. His other hand rests on my left him. He leans in slowly, his lips hovering above my cheek
“Don’t cheat me,” he whispers.
“Of course not, Reflex,” I whisper back and he pulls away, now his lips only millimeters away from my own.
“You’re definitely a lot hotter than I imagined, Sully,” he smiles and presses a light kiss to my cheek, I feel my cheeks flush.
“Until next time,” he smiles walking out of the alley.
