Way later that night, right before I was about to leave, John decided to sing us a song.
"I may not live to see our glory!" He sang awfully.
"I may not live to see our glory." I repeated just as awful as John.
"But I will gladly join the fight!" He continued.
"But I will gladly join the fight!" Both Alexander and I said."And when our children tell our story!"
"And when our children tell our story!" All four of us joined in.
"They'll tell the story of tonight!" Alexander said."They'll tell the story of tonight." Lafayette said. I nodded toward him.
"Let's have ONE MORE round tonight." I said and they all laughed.
"Raise a glass to freedom." John said. "Something they can never take away!"
We all raised our last glass of the night.
"No matter what they tell you." Mulligan added.
"Raise a glass to all of us!" Alexander said.
"Tomorrow there'll be more of us!" Laurens shouted.
"Telling the story of tonight." I said and looked towards Laurens.
"Alright boys, that's all you're going to get out of me tonight. I should head home before my uncle kills me." I said.
"Yeah I should get going as well." Alexander said and John lazily nodded in agreement.
"Lafayette and I are staying." Mulligan slurred.
"Yeah like you need more to drink." I laughed but gave
him a hug anyway. I walked over to Layfayette and gave him a huge hug too."Promise me you will write?" I asked the two of them.
"Promise." They both said, raising their glasses.
I turned to face Alexander and John who were leaving as well.
I started with Alexander.
"Goodbye Alexander!" I said and hugged him. "Please write, I'll murder you if you don't." I laughed.
He chuckled and promised to write.
"Bye John!" I said and gave him a hug as I did the
others."Bye love, and before you ask, yes I will most definitely write." He said and kissed my cheek. Both John and Alexander walked me out the door but we had to split as we were going opposite ways. I know I wasn't familiar to the city, but the bar was close. I finally made my way up the gravel and into my uncle's home. I immediately went upstairs and crashed on my bed.
