Note: Alduin is imagined as having both a dragon form and a human form. Much like the dragons of Warcraft, he can change his form in this story. However it's unknown to me if dragons can actually transform into people in Skyrim.

"Today, we are defeated..." (y/n) sighed as the horrible scenes of people being burned and mutilated alive caused a shiver down her spine.
"Alduin...won" a dark shadow of regret haunting her fair face, as slowly she recalled on how her thu'um failed to defeat Alduin... she wasn't strong enough this time.
How was she supposed to know he had these strategies in mind? The howls of souls echoed in the winds, as he devoured them and (y/n) not able to do anything for them.

She still felt ever so victorious as she defeated all the elder dragons and other powerful champions of Alduin in Skuldafn as she stepped into the portal of Sovngarde.
The mist around here was so dense that they looked like clouds. Nothing could be seen properly, it was a trap set up by the World Eater.
Yet, she'd bravely forge on as she guided lost souls to the Hall of Valor. She was a light in this darkness, but little did she know, her pure light was no match for the firstborn of Akatosh.
(Y/n) still remember the burning eyes watching her as she searched for the Hall of Valor and her thu'um strong enough to break away the mist and dissipate it even for a little while.

"You cannot win Joor (mortal), you are no match for the power I hold!" Alduin roared as he covered the lands with mist again.
But as he saw the mists being cleared out over and over, he decided to take the fight into his own hands. Alduin spread his dark wings as he soared into the sky.
(Y/n) notices him, as she prepares her shout.
"Joor" she closed her eyes she concentrated on the words and took a deep breath
"Zah" (y/n) muttered the words, blue tendrils of her voice's energy swirling around her body as she slowly opened her eyes
"Fruul!" She shouts the words as massive force of dark blue hurl from her to the dark dragon.
Alduin quickly looked at the very shout that locked him away millennia ago
"Interesting" his brows frowned as he evaded the force, the dragonrend seemingly going past him.
"It's ok, I can do that again" (y/n) calmed herself as she prepared her thu'um again but this time her concentration was broken by an earthquake. She looked up to find Alduin descended on the ground and as crimson arcane began to transform his very form.

Much to your disbelief, here stood the "human-like" Alduin, dragonscales still jutting out from his head and chin as his raven hair swayed slowly in the breeze, burning blood red eyes looking quietly at you as if challenging you with his stare, his form covered in a dark set of armor with red runes carved on them, he held a spiked glowing sword on his clawed hand as a stern expression rested on his regal face.
"What's the matter? Can your "dragon rend" hurt me anymore?" Alduin scoffed as he glanced at your utter astonishment and gracefully walked towards you
"How delusional you mortals are... did you really think that this "shout" could stop me? Ridiculous, now watch... watch as I burn all you loved, to the ground" before you could attack him, Alduin smirked and ran clawed fingers through your hair as you slowly became paralyzed as your vision darkened.

You later woke up in Skuldafn, at least that's what it seemed like to you, bound by magical binds that was woven by dragon priests, you were slightly surprised as not being killed by him but you did little to struggle yourself from the binds, since it was futile anyway.
"No screaming, no cursing... and my, no struggles as well" a rather surprised voice echoed in the chamber as you glanced at the doorway to find Alduin walking towards you
"What's going on? Is the world over then?" The words escaped as your voice trembled
"Hmph, no. Everything is still in its place" Alduin frowned a little as he turned to look at you, slowly approaching the seat you were on
"Why didn't you kill me already?" You angrily muttered
"Then why did I save you as you almost lost your sorry head?" Alduin held your face, forcing you to look at him
"What? That doesn't make any sense!" You looked at him with utter disbelief, Alduin chuckled as he slowly knelt down at your level, not breaking eye contact with you
"If you recall correctly, I was that dragon who got you to escape from those lunatics"
"Just because you wanted to attack and kill without a good reason"
"Hmm...that maybe so, but you are saved. That's what I am glad about"
"Then why have you locked... wait, you're glad that I am saved?" You turned your head to him as he arrived uncomfortably close, almost making his lips contact to yours "yes" he whispered before closing the gap between him and you, gently holding your face in his hand.

"Alduin... does this mean... you love me?" (Y/n) hesitantly asked him, as he smiled at you.
"Perhaps... why do they call me the Destroyer?".....
