Note: I wasn't sure about which character you requested, and since I'm not very good at writing same gender romance stories, so I wrote about Tirion. I hope you don't mind, enjoy!.

It has been three years since the group of paladins sent to Icecrown has yet to return.
The Lord Of Mardenholde Keep thought as he stared outside through the Keep's window, at a tranquil lake.
Tirion wished if his mind could be as tranquil as the lake, he could lead his paladins in a much more better way than now, but he knew that it would just stay a wish in his mind for now. Slowly his eyes went to an envelope that was halfway buried under many documents and parchments on the large wooden table.
The paladin picked up the papers that was covering the envelope and put it aside in a messy stack. And then his slight curious expression changed into a gloomy one, the letter had the seal of the Silverhand and the location it was sent from was Northrend, the date? Three years ago.
This letter was the final letter from the leader of that group of paladins, who was a very trusted and liked paladin.
Not just by the knights of Silverhand or the warriors of Mardenholde, but by the common folks of Hearthglen as well. (Y/n) was her name, she was sent from Stormwind by her former peers and mentor who spoke of her bravery, of her lawfulness, and her generosity. At that time Tirion had just became the leader of this Keep, he was young and maybe a little arrogant about his high rank, he didn't really believe any contents of the letter but had decided to give this aspiring warrior of light a chance.
So he recruited her along with other paladins, beginning everyone's training on the first day. To his surprise, it took just about four days for her to learn the advanced training of a paladin and even after that she was eager to learn more. Still not really sure about her skills as a paladin, she was given a mission to attack a small encampment of the Scourge near Hearthglen. The warriors that were sent with her, were aspiring paladins as well who didn't fought as effectively like a paladin would.
Tirion knew that this mission could suffer from a large casualty if (y/n) didn't know what she was doing, so without telling anyone, he decided to keep an eye on them from afar. So that just in case of danger, he could help.

Tirion was surprised when he saw (y/n) win the battle against this Scourge force with little casualty, returning with the encampment leader's head with pride.
"Reporting sir!" she saluted the leader of Silverhand as she entered the Keep "the attack of that encampment was successfully carried out, here is the proof" she placed the rotting humanoid head on the table "except for some of our valuable metals and gold stolen and destroyed, we suffered nobody's death" she proudly explained.
Tirion patiently heard what the knight had to say before smiling at her and beginning what he had to say
"The completion of this mission and the way it was carried out was truly remarkable, and I salute you for that sir knight" Tirion replied and saluted her "but bringing this back..." his proud smile turned into a gloomy frown when he looked at the severed head "I believe wasn't the fairest of choice to bring back" he said
"But my lord" she was surprised "I had to bring back a proof and besides this undead was working for the Scourge, we shouldn't have any mercy on them" she replied
"I understand your hatred towards them but was it this undead's fault that he or she is this way? No, they were raised against their will, they could've been a paladin like us before their undeath, they could've been a parent fighting for their children's lives, they could've been a child fighting for their parents' lives, have you ever wondered?" Tirion explained, concerned but appearing to be calm and polite
"I... have never thought of that" she replied after a small pause "I apologize for this... gesture. I allowed pride and the happiness of accomplishing my first mission to cloud my ability to think" (y/n) apologetically looked at Tirion before she picked up the severed head
"I shall pray to the light for the peace of all the fallen... and I promise to not to repeat this error again" she replied in grief
"I respect your ability to understand situations so quickly knight (y/n), not everyone is capable of such, you will soon become a valiant paladin of the Silverhand with such a clear and collected mind" Tirion added, smiling warmly, he didn't intend to tarnish the happy mood of her victory
"I am humbled, my lord" she smiled and bowed her head slightly
"Please, refer to me as Tirion, we are all fellow paladins" he laughed, she returned it with her laughter, and then they shook each other's hands before returning to their own businesses.
