Note: This chapter is based on a male reader and Sylvanas, girls can read it too but you'll be referred to as "he, him and his". Enjoy.

The crimson aura had faded into a light blue shade as she gazed at the small, sapphire stone that was encrusted into a silver locket held by shining chain of silver. The necklace was old, yes, but it shone as if it was forged yesterday. However these weren't the thoughts that loomed over her mind.
Sylvanas still remember the sapphire was delivered to her by Alleria's lieutenant, Verana. The Dark Lady doesn't know how Alleria is, but she's dead to her. She appears to not care and doesn't want to speak about her sister but she missed Alleria, a lot.
Not a moment goes by when she doesn't wish that things could be just like the old days, when her heart was beating.
"My dear sisters..." her purple lips quivered as she recalled those familiar laughters of Alleria and Vereesa. The bittersweet memories when they'd argue over something or fight. How she'd call Vereesa her Little Moon, and among those memories was a sweet secret that only few were aware of.
Sylvanas looks at her left hand, locked in a clawed, feathery and jeweled gauntlet. She slowly slides it off from her hand, revealing a pale skinned hand that had a golden ring that was encrusted in many elven gems had adorned in the ring finger. The band that would make her smile, even if she was drowned in grief.

Before the fall of Quel'thalas, the blood elves of today were known as high elves. They took pride in their magical skills, in their swiftness of archery or perhaps the accomplished paladins they'd make, which would make the other races think of them as overly arrogant. But (y/n) wasn't the arrogant or snobby elf, he could make friends as easily and make anyone smile when he was around. He trained under her guidance and soon became a great ranger and friend of her.
They were inseparable, they would hunt together, they'd spar sometimes and dispatch any threat of their homeland. Sylvanas felt as if (y/n) was just another her, she trusted him.
"Let's see, who can hit the flying bird in the eye" (y/n) grinned at Sylvanas
"Remember who's your teacher?" Sylvanas sneered at him as she took her bow from her back
"Then we shall have a competition my lady" you mockingly bowed at her
"If I win, I won't be held responsible for hurting your feelings" Sylvanas smiled at him
"We shall see" you scoffed as you began to climb a nearby tree, followed by Sylvanas.
"Hey no fair! It's my tree!" You quickly said as you saw her climbing the same tree
"It isn't your tree, lady dryad! We just had the same choice mentally without even knowing, coincidence!" Sylvanas replied with a sarcastic tone
"Lady! How... you know what?! It's useless to argue with you!" You replied as you climbed up to a pretty fair height
"Can't say I disagree" Sylvanas chuckled quietly as she settled in a few lower branches.

It was a clear morning but there were little birds that could be seen flying around. You and Sylvanas patiently and quietly waited for awhile now, but you began to get bored. You sighed and comfortably sat there, gazing around the forest.
Sylvanas quickly noticed a bird flying near the trees as she prepared an arrow in her bow, eyes set on the bird and arms steady, only a few more moments and she would win.
You didn't fail to notice that, you quietly chanted a spell that made the bird fly straight to your hand as you petted it. Sylvanas looked at you "what? What's that bird doing here?" She was surprised as you smiled at her "how could kill such an adorable creature?" you replied sarcastically
"Hey! We were supposed to attack that right?!" Sylvanas was annoyed
"Ah well...I changed my mind"
"No you cannot!"
"Yes, I very much can"
"I'm going to shoot it from here!" Sylvanas aimed her bow at the bird
"Not if you can't see it" you quickly hid it behind the leaves
Sylvanas frowns as she climbs around the tree and to your direction as you begin to get down from it. The bird flutters around the tree's branch to branch, not really understanding what's going on.
"Its not fair you want to quit the competition like this" Sylvanas said still looking for the bird
"Just accept it in the better marksman" you humored, only getting glares from her.
The little creature perched down the tree and to the ground where it landed.
The ranger general stopped at a branch and steadied her bow, pulling the bowstring but she felt her foot slipping away as she began to fall from that great height.
You were near the ground, when you heard her scream and you tried a levitation spell on her, that did help her levitate before hitting the ground but the spell dissipated for the lack of concentration, causing her to fall right on you.
The bird long flew away, but the humorous breaking of spell made two of you laugh a lot.
Only after awhile did Sylvanas and you realized that she was now laying on your chest, the laughter disappeared as the eyes were locked with each other, in surprise.
Her blonde hair glistening in the sun and swaying in the breeze as her blue eyes looked straight at your (e/c) eyes. You slowly pushed aside the hair that was covering part of her face, your touch lingering on her soft face as she shyly laughed. She was so close, at that moment she seemed so beautiful...so much more than just a great friend.
(Y/n) held her head as she glanced at him with a surprise and perhaps something more, pulling her close so gently as she looked at you with her lidded eyes.
You could close the gap between you and her but instead you put a flower on her hair as you sat up, pushing her gently away from you.
Sylvanas was surprised as you could see her reddened cheeks "what?" you laughed slightly as she stared at you "the flower looks beautiful on you" you complimented and smiled at her, looking away to hide your own blushing
"Uh... it does? Thanks then... it was a great day" Sylvanas replied not looking at you, as she quietly stood up "well we'll meet in training classes then, tomorrow?" Sylvanas said, gazing at the tree she fell from awhile ago
"Yes, tomorrow" you replied, standing up as you quickly walked towards your home.
Sylvanas looked at (y/n) who was pretty far away now, leaving the forest as he looks back and smiles before disappearing behind the great trees.

Weeks later, Silvermoon was under attack by the Scourge but still they were very far off from Quel'thalas. But the most frightening was that elven soldiers would leave to fight and only a few would return.
Sylvanas studied the map, the strategy and was horrified and baffled on how was the Scourge able to kill them so swiftly. Just among these while, there was (y/n) standing at the door of her tent as he cleared his throat
"Yes (y/n) what do you need?" Sylvanas replied not looking up from the map as she tried to sound calm
"I need to discuss something urgent with you, if you'd meet me in the forest?" He replied, sounding rather sad and worried than usual.
Sylvanas looked at him, unable to understand this sudden stress that was unheard of from a person like him, she nodded as she followed him.
It was after evening but the full moon in the sky was enough light to see around them as it's light made the forest appear yet more magical. He bought her to the same tree where they competed together, the same tree from where (y/n) complimented on how beautiful she looked with flowers on her hair, that made her smile even today.
You stopped walking as she stood resting her back on the tree as she crossed her arms
"So what is so urgent that I was summoned here from my war duties...you are a friend that's why I am here, otherwise..." Sylvanas was interrupted by (y/n) "yes I understand on how busy we are, but the matter I must discuss before anything evil befalls us..." a shadow of grief was looming over his brows.
He gave out his right hand to Sylvanas "if I may?" he asked as she was a bit surprised "you bought me here to dance? But..." she was yet again interrupted by the elven man who stood before her "shh..." he put a finger on his lips as she shrugs and takes his hand.
"Sylvanas..." (y/n) never called her name with so much pain as she looked at his eyes before they slowly danced, the moonlight gracing the pair "do you remember how I failed to keep the spell going for you to stay levitated?" He said after a pause
"Why is he saying that?" Sylvanas looked at his gaze deeply "I do remember, we laughed quite hard at that...before I..." she didn't speak further, it made her blush on how they ended up realizing.
(Y/n) slowly made her spin around, seldom breaking eye contact with her, before pulling her close again
"I walked away that day...without saying a word to you...but I want to confess a lot to you, this day" (y/n)'s quiet voice and his breath on her skin, made her shiver a little before she nodded.
"Before this damned war takes any of us, I must tell you... how your eyes reminded me of the oceans glistening under a dawning sun as you looked at me with surprise on that day" you smiled slightly at her as she looked at you with her eyes glistening, you coiled your arms around her waist as you pulled her close, safe in your embrace
"That, your long golden locks surrounded me as you laid on my chest... I set aside the blonde hair from your face, to glance at the beauty that had baffled me that day" a single tear ran down her cheek as you spoke your words, Sylvanas locking her arms behind your neck as she quietly smiled at you
"That feathery touch of your cheek, still make me want to relive that day...how overwhelming was the desire for placing a kiss on your lips as you were nearing ever so close to me" you spoke as tears began to appear in your eyes and hers, resting your forehead on hers as you continued
"But I was a coward...foolishly placing a flower on your golden tresses, denying the closeness between us... but today Dalah'surfal (my love) nothing stands as a barrier between us" you slowly took her hand as she glanced at you with tears still falling from her eyes, you removed the gauntlet from it and putting a golden ring that was encrusted with elven gems.
"Sylvanas...my dear, do you accept us as lovers till the end?" you smiled at her as you wiped her tears
"Until death do us apart (y/n), I love you" Sylvanas replied as she pulled you closer to her, locking her lips with yours, the moon shone brightly upon their love...may Elune watch over them, until the end....
