The long raven locks of the demon hunter gently moved in the breeze, dark auras surrounded and swirled around his body, covering his once pale blue skin. His eyes burned with fel magic and they gazed over the burning trees and the land blighted by the demons.
"Shando Stormrage will not react kindly to your current form...you know that right?" the fair and beautiful companion who fought alongside Illidan broke the eerie silence, the demon hunter looked at her as she slowly gazed back at his fiery emerald eyes, so many emotions in those (e/c) eyes, fear, grief or disgust... that, Illidan could not tell.
With his gaze upon her, he spoke "I know (y/n)... I know" trying to sound as gentle as possible but his transformed voice was filled with malice and darkness "he will deny me as his brother the moment he finds out what I have become... even though I only wished the best for the night elves. Every single ally I had today will name me the betrayer and will only seek to hunt me... even though I saved them from their imminent death today... but" Illidan paused and turned to face the huntress who was listening to him, her grieving eyes suddenly glinted with a slight cautiousness "will you perceive me as such (y/n)? The betrayer? The one who only cared for his selfish purposes?...will you abandon me like everyone else?" there was a rather mysterious but clearly anguishing tone when he spoke those words, she could detect them even though his voice sounded utterly apathetic and demonic. (Y/n)'s lips slightly parted in awe, she had known this man since they were children, they were inseparable friends and they know each other like an open book but she never saw him speak like this, with such a stern and worrying tone. "Will you abandon me like everyone else?..." his words repeated in her mind, if what the demon hunter speak is true, then she must choose her allegiance, it is either her people whom she was born among or her childhood friend, (y/n) sighed and looked at the demon hunter... she looked upon her friend, the one she is so fond of, but her thoughts see him as a demon, the very enemy they seek to destroy but deep down she knows that he isn't the demon, he is not the enemy "look what he has done to himself, the very being he wishes to destroy... but he didn't do this purposely... he is not the enemy, he saved us. We defended the Felwood and took it from the demons, only because of Illidan... we stand here alive, just because of you. The approach he attempted to do that, to become this, was not the most wisest or righteous one, but I stand here alive... with him..." a storm of thoughts raged in her mind, she finally mustered enough courage to speak "Illidan...I..." she looked away she stumbled upon her words and tried to say something encouraging or hopeful to Illidan but she couldn't, whatever he said was truth and there was no denying it.
Illidan looked at (y/n), her beautiful face now pale with doubt and it was clear she was worrying a lot, her (h/c) tresses softly shining under the moonlight as if she was a gentle priestess of the moon and not a boisterous warrior of one. "How can someone be so beautiful?" Illidan mumbled and smiled in admiration, but the dark auras around him shielded (y/n) from seeing it. The demon hunter gently touched her face, the huntress shivered at the sudden contact as he yet more softly pushed her chin up to meet his gaze. Illidan stepped closer to (y/n), she blushed and stared confused at him "you don't have to make a decision...I will never hold a grudge against you... I never can" he whispered as he gently tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, gently caressing her cheek but he stepped away from her. Confused, (y/n) was about to say something but she understood why he stepped away from her.
"Foul demon! What have you done to my brother?!" A surprised and angry Malfurion walked towards the hunter. Illidan stood tall and flexed his wings "well, it is Illidan, your "brother"..." Illidan mocked
Malfurion couldn't believe him, he stared in awe at him "how could you sell your soul like this?" he spoke, grief in his voice
"The leader of the undead is vanquished, the forests are safe now" the demon hunter replied apathetically
"You are no brother of mine... begone and never set foot in this place..." his eyes suddenly went to the huntress standing beside Illidan "(Y/n)! Step away from him! Let her go Illidan!" The archdruid shouted just as he saw the huntress standing near the demon hunter.
"Shando Stormrage! Listen to me..." she tried to explain herself
"You will step away from him this instance huntress!" The archdruid interrupted her angrily but the kind priestess Tyrande stepped forward "Malfurion enough! (Y/n) is there a justification on why you are standing with him?" the priestess questioned, her voice gentle but equally distressed like the druid's.
"Yes...t-there is..." (y/n) sighed, Illidan glanced at her puzzled
"If you must banish Illidan... then there is no reason for me to stay here... the Kaldorei are no longer my brethren and Ashenvale is no longer my home..." she said with an anger but the demon hunter could detect sadness in her voice .
Before the priestess could say anything, Malfurion stopped her "very well... from now on, I banish both of you..." he replied, disappointed and distressed as he looked at Illidan one final time before walking away. Priestess Tyrande looked at both of them with sadness before following the archdruid soon after.
Eventually they both fled to the harsh lands of Outland, no words were shared between them just an uncomfortable silence, one waiting for another to break it.
By the nightfall, they arrived at a cliff that was unoccupied by any demons. They stopped walking and sat down near the end of the cliff, beside each other.
Looking at the land that was about a thousand feet low from here, (y/n) chuckled "if I fall from here, I wonder if I would float... the air seems very heavy here..." they both quietly laughed at her jest
"So... you decided to accompany me? Why?" Illidan asked her, by now his demonic form was gone and he looked like an elf again, his voice much more normal
"I couldn't just stay there, and feel bad about you..." she indirectly answered
"But you were born there and you have so many friends in Ashenvale..." he asked
"And so were you but you're here now right? And besides, being around a very special person rather than the people whom I just name friends is better" (y/n) said and laughed
"Mmhm, a very special person?" Illidan teased as (y/n) realized and blushed "h-hey! I..I d-didn't..." she stuttered and tried to laugh but Illidan mischievously smiled at her.
(Y/n) gasped as she felt the demon hunter's robust arms surround her small form and pull her against his bare chest, his softly glowing emerald eyes looking in her (e/c) eyes. "I-Illidan! C-Come on! It looks weird!" she stuttered and blushed by the closeness they never attempted before.
Illidan kept a finger on her lips "shh..." he whispered to her, he gently caressed her face and lowered his head to face her properly, his silky raven locks slid down from his shoulders and made contact against her neck. Illidan ran his fingers through her hair, soft and untangled. "I have no objections in being your special person dear (y/n)..." he whispered and came closer to her, with a small surprised pause (y/n) reached out and held his gaunt cheek as she gently pulled him into a kiss. In their impassioned state, (y/n) suddenly felt something on her neck, pulling back from the kiss, she looked at the glittering locket hanging from her neck, a moon shaped locket surrounded by the purest white gems and a blue heart rested on the crescent moon.
"I love you..." Illidan said, his voice gentle and caring, with an overwhelming wave of emotions (y/n) embraced him, tears of happiness running down her cheeks "we are finally together then..." she spoke as the demon hunter smiled and protectively wrapped his arms around her "yes....together..." he sighed of relief, many relationships broke that day but a very precious bond was created as well, that can never be broken....
