"Are you certain it is just one person? One person?" The Archmage Khadgar almost laughed at the reports bought by the Kirin Tor scout
"Yes, the majority of my reports do mention that it indeed is just one person" the lead scout replied
"Interesting... well can't the knights of Stormwind take care of this matter?" Khadgar questioned back
"As you can see, the soldiers are being killed by this mysterious murderer and war has the forces stretched thin" the scout replied
"Hmm... very well, looks like I need to look into the matter myself. You are dismissed" the Archmage replied as the scout bowed and left. "What could be so strong to kill this many people by itself? I don't want to think that it might be a demon...but then again..." Khadgar sighed and held his head "no, I don't think I should sit in one place and guess... I need to investigate for myself..." he looked outside, his gentle blue eyes gazed at the moonlit sky and the trees moving slowly in the wind. A peaceful night, just the right time to sit down and read a good book or two but sometimes your fate wants you to do something else rather than being introverted and relax.
Khadgar stood up from the chair and walked towards the beautifully decorated balcony, gazing at the sky for a few moments before summoning his griffin.
The great, majestic bird landed before the Archmage and cawed quietly, but it sounded like a rather low growl, griffins are half lions after all.The entire forest was dead quiet. The Archmage Khadgar did visit this place more than once but it was never this quiet, not even in night.
Khadgar remained vigilant as he took every step and searched for any traces in the forest, just then a waver in the eerily silent atmosphere. It could be an animal? Or the being that is the reason for so many murders in the forests.
The Archmage reached for his staff and muttered a spell under his breath, while his eyes searched for the source of the noise.Suddenly a cold laughter from the shadows, a feminine one but touched with slyness and maybe a bit of malice.
"Since the soldiers couldn't deal with their problems alone, they decided to run to their mages for help, how pathetic" the voice spoke
"Show yourself!" Khadgar shouted but before he could complete his words, he felt a cold blade pressed against his neck.
The mage looked behind him just to find a woman of immense beauty holding the dagger. The female was from the rivaling faction, the Horde and that would most likely explain the murders of people of the Alliance.
"There... you'll be dead here today like everyone else" she chuckled
"Is that so? Dear lady, you have run into the wrong person for fighting today" the mage smiles and grabs hold of her wrist, twisting her arm behind her back... resulting a rather awkward closeness between them.
"Leave me!" she shouts, trying to release herself from him.
Khadgar found himself distracted for a few moments. The female might be a warrior or assassin to be precise, but she smelled as if she was a noble woman. There was something about her that made him strangely curious, something about her that made him desire her.
Was he really feeling this for a woman that rivaled his very faction? Feeling this for a enemy?.
As the Archmage stood silent for many moments, he was startled out of his musings by her laughter, such an elegant laughter
"Now now, try not to enjoy it this much" she playfully smiled at him
"W-what? No! I-I w-wasn't!" Khadgar was visibly embarrassed as he loosened his grip on her.
The female assassin turned to him "aren't you an adorable one..." the mischievous smile didn't die on her lips as she reached up to the mage, causing him to take a few steps back.
"I don't see a reason why I cannot be a little nice with my enemy for a bit" her smile grew wider as she gently closed the gap between their lips, and threw her arms around him.Though Khadgar did stood surprised for a while, he couldn't help but kiss her back. This meeting would be a sweet secret he would keep in his mind forever....
