Chapter Seven

Jason’s POV

We had just gotten ready for bed when I heard him inside my head.

“Alpha” My eyes shot open from the surprise of Tony’s voice inside my head.

“Alpha Jason, are you awake?”

“Yes Tony what is it?”

“Less than 15 minutes ago Darleen Backland was contacted by her husband Steven Backland via the mind link, he was calling for back up but something was wrong with his connection to his wife and she couldn’t understand him until it was too late. She alerted the border patrol to go looking for him. We just found him and Phillip Rice dead in Ricklen Park” I shot up from bed and as I took in all his information.

“This was no human attack on them sir, something supernatural has done it, It’s—It was strong. Your father has already made his way down to Ricklen Park, he is requesting you be there” I could hear the worry in Tony’s voice, usually if it is a vampire attack he would just say so but instead he said supernatural, what happened tonight to those two wolves?

“Thank you Tony I’ll be down there as soon as possible” I could hear Sarah trying to ask me what the matter was and looked down at her big worried hazel eyes.

“Sarah, I need you to stay here and lock all the windows and doors after I leave”

“Jason what is going on?” She asked nervously.

“Two wolves from my pack have been found dead in Ricklen forest, we aren’t sure what killed them but whatever it was it’s strong and not human” She sat there frozen, taking in the words that had just left my mouth. I instantly regretted telling her the whole truth right before leaving she obviously wasn’t taking this well and I wanted to comfort her until she felt safe.

“John! Lucas!” I called out to them, I instantly heard running coming towards us and they both burst into Sarah’s room. I told them same thing I told Sarah and I could see the shock smack them across their faces. They tensed their jaws in anger at the murder and asked almost in unison;

“What can we do to help Alpha?”

“Lucas you stay here with Sarah make sure the only people you let into this house are your parents and myself, no one else! Do you understand?!” He nodded and stood beside a shivering Sarah.

“Yes Alpha”

“John you come with me” John nodded and ran back into his room to get changed.  I looked down at Sarah and held onto her face gently trying to calm her down.

“Sarah, are you okay?” She slightly nodded her head not being able to do much else.

“I promise I’ll be back soon, I will keep you safe!” I looked at her intently making sure she knew I would keep my promise. I kissed her quickly on the lips and it took all the strength in my body to let her go. I looked at Lucas quickly before I left the room making sure he knew the severity of his job. He nodded and I ran out of Sarah’s room John running closely behind me.

Ricklen Park wasn’t too far from Sarah’s house and so we didn’t bother shifting. Getting closer to the park I picked up on the scent of blood and torn flesh instantly, John gave me a confused look not knowing why my face had paled, a few moments after though and he caught onto the scent as well. John use to be one of my best wolves in my pack but after he’s accident he was a changed and weakened wolf and I knew out of John and Lucas I would want Lucas to be protecting my mate, that’s why I had asked him to come with me instead of Lucas.
