Chapter 11
“You did that on purpose!” I screamed as the blast of cold water hit my face. “You were supposed to block it” Jason said trying to hold in his laughter. I looked down at my clothes to see they were more wet than dry. We had been out here for more than 2 hours, Jason was trying to teach me how to use my water powers but I was failing miserably.
“Ok, how about we go back to the basics?” I rolled my eyes and collapsed on the ground. “If you mean going back to listening to the streams and breathing techniques I might hurt you” I had no idea learning to control my powers would be so hard, I looked at the tattoo that was now imprinted on my right wrist, circling the entwined circles and wondering how the daughter of the goddess of elements could fail so badly in controlling the elements?
“Yeah well to actually hurt me you would have to have a handle on your elements sooo, I’m feeling pretty safe right now” He said with a grin. I sat up shocked and decided to use the one thing Lucas taught me that I was actually able to do. I stood up and watched Jason walk back to his bag to grab the dry towels and just as he bent down I kicked the ground underneath me and watched as a medium sized rock came up from under him and hit him on his left butt cheek. He turned around quickly and rubbed his sore backside. I turned around equally as fast and begun whistling and looking everywhere but at him.
Next thing I knew he had tackled me into a hug and wouldn’t let me go. “You learnt that from Lucas” He said with accusation filling each word. I struggled in his arms wanting to break free in case he retaliated. “I don’t know what you’re talking about?”
“Oh really?” Keeping me still in his tight hold I watched as Jason moved his right arm towards the stream we had been manipulating water out of and bring it forward. I begun squirming again, knowing what was coming.
“Don’t you dare Jason Stern, I will be an almighty demigod that can control all four elements one day and I will seek my revenge on you!” He laughed and turned me around so we were facing each other. “Well lucky for me you aren’t yet” And he released the water right on top of me. I stood frozen for a solid 10 seconds before actually moving, feeling the freezing water sink its way into my bones. I looked up at him to see him nearly falling over himself, not even bothering to contain his laughter.
“You’re dead!” I ran over to him and tackled him to the ground, I sat on top of him a leg on each side of his waist, pinning his shoulders to the ground. “Mmm I could get use to this position” He looked up at me with a very large smirk plastered on his face. “Word of caution Sarah, I mean I’m defiantly not complaining but maybe next time were doing water training, you shouldn’t wear a white top” I looked down and was horrified to see my purple bra showing through my shirt bright as day. My cheeks flushed with embarrassment and I quickly hopped off Jason and headed straight for the towels.
Jason propped himself up on his elbows and continued chuckling. I looked down at my clothes and knew the towel wasn’t going to help all that much, I was sopping wet. Suddenly I felt this weird amount of confidence flow through me, I raised my hand up close to my chest, my palm facing me and pinched my fingers together. Slowly I pulled my hand further and further away from my body and watched as droplets left my shirt and form into a ball on top of my fingers. Within seconds my shirt was dry again and I had a large ball of water hovering just above my fingers.
