Chapter Fourteen

Chapter 14

A few days had passed and I had finally given Andrea a somewhat edited low down of life since I had moved here, purposely leaving out anything thing to do with the vampires. We had gone shopping and it had taken me 3 hours to convince Jason not to come that being with Andrea alone would be all the protection that I would need. Jason didn't come but 3 werewolves were stationed just outside the shopping mall.

I empty my bags on to my bed and looked over my shopping haul, we had both spent well over $250 but I didn't care. Even though the main talk of the day was everything supernatural it felt nice to be able to hang out with Andrea doing normal things that normal girls would do.

There was a knock on my door and John walked in. "Hey how was your girl's day?"

"Really good. What did you get up to today?" I sat on bed resting my aching feet and John joined me.

"Yeah wasn't too bad, was supposed to hang out with Rob today but he isn't feeling to well so I caught up on some Game Of Thrones" Immediately put my fingers in my ears not wanting to hear another word.

"Don't you dare say anything, I'm only up to season 2!" He pulled my fingers out my ears. "Would I do that to you?"

"Yes! You told me the ending of season 1 when I was only one episode away, you claim it was accident but your smile told a different story!" He rolled his eyes and laid back on my bed.

"So I was thinking, if you were up for it" He said with a sneaky smile.

"Yes?" I asked suspiciously.

"Did you maybe want to try some fire training today?" I had asked this many times before with John and he had always been busy so I was giddy at the fact that he was the one asking me.

"Yes! Let's go!" He laughed, he went back to his room to go fetch a spare set of clothes and I waited patiently for him at the front door with my spare set of clothes already in hand. John raced down the stairs but before either of us could take a step out the front door Lucas turned around in the swivel kitchen chair like some sort of evil James Bond villain stroking his imaginary cat.

"And where are you two going?"

"We are going out training" John said with a little annoyance in his voice.

"Hmm and does Jason know of this training session you two are going on?" Switching from imaginary cat to imaginary beard, Lucas started to stroke his chin.

"Why would Jason need to know? I'm going with her!" John asked again getting even more irritated at his brother.

"Let's see because you two can barely defend yourselves, you are going into the woods when there is some sort of beast out on the loose and not to mention you are going with his mate. Why wouldn't you tell Jason?" He had a point. I grabbed my phone showed it to Lucas, showing him I was calling him right now and then called Jason.

"Hey Sarah" I could tell I had caught him at a bad time so I knew I would have to make this quick.

"Hey Jason"

"What's up?"

"Well I thought I would just tell you that John and I are going out to train, Lucas thought you needed to know" I laughed a little, thinking how stupid it was that I had to tell Jason my every move.

"This might not be the right time for you guys to be out training" His answer surprised me, he was actually saying no. This was a courteous call not a permission call.

"What? Why?"

"We've just had sighting of unknown creature out on the out skirts of town"

"Which is kind of nowhere near here. Come on Jason I need to practice, John and I both do"

"Look I've given you my answer, you can't go" I tried to intercept "But Jason"

"I'll be over later tonight, we can talk then. I love you" Before I could even fight for myself I heard the dial tone. I clenched my phone in my hand so tightly that I felt it crack.

I looked up at Lucas who just shrugged and said sorry. I could feel my anger rising, my skin getting hotter with each passing second. John threw his clothes to the side sat on one of the couches looking just as angry as I felt. I threw my phone on the ground smashing it into little pieces.

How dare he treat me like this? Like I was a child that couldn't look after myself?! I am getting stronger each day! I could feel in my mind that Izadora agreed with me but couldn't help but listen to her mate and Alpha.

"This isn't fair!" I cried out. The windows burst open and the wind was gushing all around me. Lucas jumped off of his chair and tried to calm me down, instead I made it so the wind was so strong around me that couldn't get within 2 meters of me.

"Why do I have to report to him?! Why do I have to bend to ever single word he says?! This is my life!" I screamed. I knew I was possibly over reacting but I didn't care this was the straw that broke the camel's back.

"He's just worried about you Sarah, he doesn't want to see you get hurt!" He yelled, the wind was getting so strong that I could barely hear his voice.

"There is being protective and then there is just plan paranoid madness!" John was watching me in awe, I noticed that I had made the wind so strong that it had become a small tornado circling around me.

Lucas looked at John looking for help and John just shook his head. "She has a point dude, do you see anyone else having to report Jason like this?"

"That's because it's his mate!" Lucas yelled back.

"I'm also a person Lucas! A person who is supposed to have free will!"

Jason barged through the door looking confused and worried, I glared at Lucas knowing he must of alerted him of my tantrum through the mind link. "What the?! Sarah!" Jason tried reaching out to me but I just blew him back with a flick of my wrist out the door. He stood back approaching me slowly now.

"Sarah I'm sorry I brushed you off like that, that was all on me and I'm sorry. But you have to realize the reason I say no to these things is because I love you and can't bear to see you get hurt again"

"You would have me put in a plastic bubble if it were possible! Why do I have to go to you for permission and not the other way around?! Do you think I like not knowing where you are? Do you think I like the fact that you go monster hunting?! This is not a relationship, this is ridiculous!" I calmed the wind down and I felt my knees buckle underneath me, Jason caught me before my knees touched the ground and I sobbed into his shirt.

"Why do you do this to me? You make me feel so weak"

"I'm sorry Sarah, I'm so sorry" He held me close to him, melting our bodies into one.

I was exhausted from using so much power and before I knew I was asleep cradled in Jason's arms. With Jason's words surrounding me as fell into the darkness.
