"You're going to wish Jason was the one that found you" I seethed out. She dug her arms into the earth pulling them out again with a shield of earth and rock surrounding them.
"You want me, come and get me" She yelled as she charged at me. I quickly built a gust of wind and directed it in Jennifer's way which didn't even seem to affect her, the force of her elbow connecting with my stomach lifted my body off the ground, she through me clear across the forest and into the nearby stream, the cold water of the stream piercing my skin. As the stream washed over me I felt a surge of rage and power flow through me, I knelt in the stream staring at Jennifer as she laughed at her attack on me. Focusing on the new power that surged through me I felt my energy levels skyrocket, the water around me began to glow, I watched as the water trace up my skin, as the water reached my mangled arm it stopped I wasn't sure what was happening but I no longer felt pain in my arm or anywhere on my body.
Jennifer stopped laughing and cocked her head to the side. "What the-"
But before she could finish her sentence I used the stream flowing around me and bended the water in her direction. Her body connected with a large tree and I continued to rush the water in her direction, walking closer and closer towards her until we were a mere meter away from each other. I stopped the water and held it in my hands, I watched her body slump to the ground as she coughed up some water she turned her gaze to me and smirked."Is that the best you can do?" I knew she was baiting me, but I took it, hook, line and sinker.
With the water I still held in my hands I directed my attack at her hands and feet, pinning her against the tree. I clenched my fingers and the water froze around her. "What now?" She asked with a raspy voice."Kill me? I don't think so. You don't have the guts to see these guts" I closed my eyes and my mind went back to that night, the night she killed my friend, the night she tried to kill me and all I could see was Andy, his face filled up my mind and I suddenly felt a connection to my wolf like I had never felt before.
My teeth started to ache and my nails started to itch, my bones felt as if they may dislocate at any moment but before anything could happen I heard my name being called out. I opened my eyes and saw Jason, standing behind the tree that had Jennifer pinned. He walked towards me slowly, instinctively I growled, warning him not to take another step further. I heard him let out a gasp and I knew I had hurt him with my action but I felt no sympathy, not when I was so close to avenging Andy.
"Sarah, you don't want to do this" He said in a calm voice.
"Yes I do" I growled.
"You may now, but you will come to regret this moment in time"
"You know what she has done! She does not deserve to live!"
"This is not what Andy would want, this is not the person he would want you to become"
"How would you know?! You barely knew him, you didn't even want to take the chance to know him! How can you even say what he would want?!" He bowed his head and nodded.
"Because he was your friend Sarah, that's how I know and if he was your friend I know he was a good person, just like you"
Jason took a hesitant step towards me but this time I didn't growl, his hand reached out for mine and I grasped it tightly. I took a step away from Jennifer and slowly my body stopped aching for the change as I started to walk away from Jennifer she started to moan distress-fully, she screamed a high pitched scream and arched her back in pain, she started coughing blood and somehow her hands had broken free from the ice that was around them her razor sharp finger nails broke into her own flesh as she clawed into her stomach.
"Get it out! Get it out of me!" Jennifer screamed. Jason tried stopping her from herself but with her remaining strength she pushed him away and with one flick of her wrist she had slit her own throat, her body slumped back against the tree as she gurgled the remaining blood left in her body.
I stood there numb at what I had just witnessed. Seconds ago I had wanted to kill this girl myself, but watching as she clawed into her own flesh, killing herself in what I can only imagine being the most painful way possible, I still didn't feel satisfied.
"Oh my god" Jason breathed out quietly.
"Her body" He said as he looked at me with eyes so full of fear."It looks like the others, the others that we found like a month ago in Ricklen forest. We thought these deaths were Vampire related but now" He paused as came to realize there was now an even bigger and badder out there.
"Sarah?! Jason?!" I heard Lucas and Johns voices echoing in the forest.
Reality started to come back into focus and the realization of what I needed to do was becoming more evident.
Jennifer might have been bitch before this week but something out there had made her into the homicidal monster and it was my job to hunt that thing down.
