Chapter 16
With one last sprits of perfume I was ready to go to Rob’s party. I looked over my outfit one last time and decided that this was as good as it was going to get. I was wearing dark denim skinny jeans and a fitted red shirt with my black leather jacket. I pushed my wavy hair to one side and left my room with my bag slung over my shoulder, I walked down the stairs to see Jason and Lucas deep in conversation when Jason suddenly stopped mid conversation and looked over to me.
I couldn’t remember the last time I had seen Jason truly smile but it made my heartbeat quicken and turn my stomach into knots. Slowly he rose from his sit and walked over to me, his hands reached out for mine and his touch was electrifying.
“You look absolutely beautiful Sarah” My cheeks flushed red and I bit my lip.
“Thanks” I managed to whisper out. I looked around in the lounge room to see Lucas, Heidi and John all sitting around waiting to go.
“Ok she’s out can we go now?” Lucas asked a little irritated. Lucas wasn’t exactly ecstatic at the idea of going to a party that Rob was hosting. Heidi nudged him with her elbow and he managed out a ‘sorry’.
It took us about half an hour to get to Robs and by that point the party was in full swing. Robs house was kind of in the middle of nowhere, his closest neighbours being a full 2 acres away. We made our way into the house and immediately I was tackled into a drunken hug.
“SARAH! Where have you been? Doesn’t matter! You need to catch up with us” Megan screamed as she pulled me into the kitchen and passed me red cup with some sort of brown liquid in it. Megan clunked our cups together and she skulled the remaining contents of her cup. I took a sip of mine and nearly spat it right back out again, whatever Megan had given me it tasted vile against my lips and burnt on the way down my throat.
Jason took the cup from my hand and poured it down the sink. “How about we start with something that won’t make you end up on the floor within 10 minutes? Vodka orange?” I nodded and Jason headed towards the kitchen.
Everyone from our little group had already dispersed around the house, Lucas and Heidi taking over the couch with a passionate make out session and John out most likely out looking for Rob.
I looked around the house and saw Andy sitting lazily on a bean bag looking like he had just heard the most hilarious joke. “Hey Andy” He looked up at me with his extremely blood shot eyes and smiled.
“Sarah, won’t you join me?” He held out his hand and pulled me down so I was sitting on the bean bag next to him. Tiny little polyester balls fell out of the bean bag as I sat down and that soon became the new amusement to Andy, he watched as they floated around as people walked past them.
“So Andy, how have you been? Feel like I haven’t seen you in ages”
“Oh you probably haven’t” He said whilst nodding his head like the bobble headed dogs you see in people’s cars. I waited for him to go on but he just sat there nodding.
“And why is that Andy?”
“Oh yeah, like I’ve been really um, sick these last few days but tonight is like um, my celebration for not being like sick anymore”
“Sorry to hear you were sick, it wasn’t anything serious was it?”
“Oh no, I mean I don’t think so, I can’t really remember. Enough about me though, what has Sarah been up to? You’re always getting into crazy adventures aren’t you?” By this time Jason had returned with my drink and he joined us on the remaining bean bag.
“Hey Andy what’s happening man?”
“Wow how did you know my name? Are you like a mind reader or something?”
