Chapter 11
I currently sat in the small little coffee shop a couple blocks from my house. It was owned by a cute elderly couple. They were actually Tara's Grandparents. Shawn and Jordan. They had told me to call them by their first names they said that it made them feel less old.
I was sitting across from Tara, at the moment waiting for Alice and Kylie to arrive. First I had to break the news to them about Lucas and I dating then I had to ask them what they thought I should do about my brothers and the recent news of Lucas' past. To be honest I was so confused right now I just need someone to help me make sense of things, So why not my best friends?
"So what's up?" Tara must have been asking for the tenth time. I had learned over the past month since I got here that patients was not a virtue Tara possessed. Honestly I wasn't much different but it was nice to know that it wasn't just me.
"Look Tara I already said I don't want to say everything twice, so you have to wait," I said, but I don't think she liked the answer. I could already tell that she was going to whip out one of her endless supply of sarcastic comments. The bell rang signaling somebody walked in. Or in this case two people.
"Finally," Tara said under her breath. I chuckled. Kylie and Alice rushed to where we sat.
"What took you guys so long? Did Alice spot the March hare?" Tara asked impatiently.
"We are 5 minutes early!" Kylie exclaimed surprising Tara and I. She was right I was so nervous that I got here 20 minutes early and Tara lives above the coffee shop so...
"Sorry Raggedy Ann here doesn't like exercise and we ran here," Alice said pointing at Kylie when she said Wendy. "So what is it Blondie, don't tell me you called an emergency meeting for nothing," Alice said leaning back in her seat. The girls had told me about emergency meetings before but this would be my first time experiencing one.
"Do you want the good news the bad news first?" I asked them. I really didn't know where to start so I decided to let them choose.
"Hit me with the hard stuff," Tara said rubbing her hands together evily. Alice whined but Tara spoke first so I started with the bad news.
"Dylan and Charlie are both getting involved in drugs, and Lucas is an ex dealer," I said nervously awaiting their reactions. I knew I could trust them just right now I just needed someone to tell me what they would do in my shoes. I then continued to explain what happened in more detail. Kylies face fell; I didn't know why she didn't seem to know either of my brothers all too well.
"Really Charlie too?" Alice said sounding slightly heart broken. She visited a lot and over the weeks she had gotten very close with Charlie he was like her own little brother.
"If Lucas really is out then you shouldn't worry about it. Right now he is okay, so you should worry about your brothers," Kylie said stretching her hand across the table and gave mine a reassuring squeeze.
"Okay give us the good stuff now," Tara said expectantly. I laughed nervously.
"I am dating Lucas," I said smiling. Alice and Kylie squealed in unison and Tara covered her ears.
"Told you he was a softy," Alice said nudging me in the stomach with her elbow.
"You don't know that yet! Tell us everything," Kylie demanded and so I did.
