Chapter 12
Two days later and I still had no idea what to do! Sure it had been comforting to hear what the girls had to say, and it felt good to tell someone but they were really no help. All they did was pat me on the back and wish me good luck. Okay not just that, Tara had come up with 20 different plans but they all ended up with us merduring someone, or being suplied with outrageous weapons.
At the time that was what I needed but now that was not what I needed. Not in the long run. I had tried to corner each of my brothers but in a nutshell this is what happened:
When I tried speaking with Charlie:
"Charlie," I said wrapping my knuckles on his bedroom door. He didn't say anything but I knew he was in there, I watched him walk in there. I had been trying to corner him all day; mainly becase if thing went pourly with Charlie that means things would go 10 time worse with Dylan! I was so not looking forward to that.
"If you don't come out right now I will tell mom and Dad everything," I threatened him in my most athoritative voice. I expected him to continue to ignore me a he had all day. I knew that he didn't want to see me, but doesn't he want to at least talk about this with something. I just want to know why he is doing this so that I can help him. Why can't he see that?
"If you did I would tell them about your boyfriend," he said smuggly. I actually laughed at Charlie. What did he think my priorities were? Not to mention at least Lucas wasn't doing that anymore.
"Charls," I said using my old nick name for him. That always used to get him. "You're my baby brother I could not care less about what you say about Lucas. You are my brother and I would do anything for you," I said trying to convey my honesty as best as I could.
"No you wouldn't, we used to do everything together and now we almost never talk!" Charlie said as he burst out of his bedroom and stormed off...
So as you see I was VERY sucsessful when speaking with Charlie; please note the sarcasm so expertly used. If you though that went well wait till you see what happened when I spoke to Dylan;
"Dylan," I spoke more that annoyed. I was angrily banging on his door because if I knew Dylan this was 70% his fault and 30% Charlie's. That was just how it always worked. There was still no reply so I burst in his room. I didn't have the same respect for him as I did for Charlie so I didn't bother waiting for him to open the door. To be honest he wouldn't have willingly opened the door anyway.
"Leave me alone," he spat angrily at me and then he actually jumped out his window! Who did he thing he was Spiderman? I rushed to the window to make sure I hadn't just witnessed my idiotic brothers death. I hadn't. Nope he was currently scaling down the tree next to his window, quickly approaching the ground. That bugger. I was so not scaling a tree for this I guess it could wait...
And that was how I found myself back at the little coffee shop Jordan and Shawn owned. I had already drained two cups of coffee. This place opened at precisely 5:00am and that was when I got here. I couldn't sleep. I didn't understand at first why someone would open that early in the morning, needless to say I was glad they did now. It had been 3 days! How did they manage to avoid me when we lived in the same house? How did they manage to always be in the way when I needed space, but now that I had something to say they just disappeared.
"Hun, what is on your mind?" Jordan asked sitting across from me. It wasn't a big surprise it's not like they had a lot of customers at this time of day, figures. So 'Staff' meaning Jordan since Shawn was still sleeping. Didn't really have much to do.
